From the KHSAA website: Summer Dead Period Students may not receive coaching or training from school personnel and school facilitiesuniforms, nicknames, transportation or equipment shall not be used each year in any KHSAA sanctioned sport or cheerleading squad during the period beginning with June 25, and going through July 9. School funds may not be expended in support of interscholastic athletics in any KHSAA sanctioned sport during this period. These restrictions shall not apply to postseason wrapup activities, celebrations and recognition events relating to a spring sports team at a school which participated in KHSAA state championship play in that particular sport during that particular sitting in the nether regions of a ball park away from the game is not a violation

\ No it is not true. Coach M was a catcher in the Lloyd program and by his own words caught because it was the only way he could play. His talent level never was as high as his love for the game.

Typical dumb KHSAA thinking MONEY first, last and always.

Absolutely right, That is why once in a while you see a Beechwood or a Heath in the championship for a year but overall the bigger schools come back much more often.

That is why you don't coach.

You can't discuss SOS until the season is over, (nobody, no matter how well informed they think they are) know how good the quality of schedule teams play ntil the season concludes. It is all speculation and guess work this early in the year.

So the counter argument then is just because your JV team has good success doesn't mean the same success at the varsity level because many teams don't have their best JV eligible players playing on the JV team?
