Tanner Jacobs....a CARD?
centuriondawg replied to RockPride's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I love watching Jacobs play. I don't know if anyone plays with more heart and passion than he does. I could see him walking-on at UofL and possibly contributing later in his career. I could see him being like a Luke Whitehead, a 6'6-6'7 PF that does nothing but rebound and gets his points by hitting the boards. I reall like the idea of Jacobs wearing the Red and Black. -
Twany Beckham from Ballard for Mr. Basketball
centuriondawg replied to sportsboy1's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Beckham might be one of, if not the best player in the state. But he is from Louisville, so he won't get it. Tillford won it a couple years ago but the talent in the state that year was down. The talent this year is pretty good, with guys like Walls, Pettigrew and Proffit. He won't get enough votes from out in the state to win it. -
What a State Tournament !!!
centuriondawg replied to sfan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This is something that should be written after all the regional tournaments are to be played. Scott Co. is the favorite in the 11th but upsets do happen. Same with Ballard. They are the favorite but anything can happen in the 7th region, and anything can happen once you get to Rupp. Some of those teams may not make it that far. -
Oldham County Versus Simon Kenton Tonight

I like the Colonels in this one. OCHS- 67 SK- 61 -
Anyone else think the LIT was a little down this year? The attendence for the finals were horrible. No really great games. Other than the Male-WC and Doss-WC games, no other games were really close. The out of state teams that came, and nothing against them, but weren't the best in the state. This tournament used to be one of the best in the state every year.

Ballard is by far the best team in the city. Their pressure defense is outstanding. I would love to see thier stats of how many transition points they get a game. It seems like all their points are off steals that turn into layups. My money is on Ballard to take the 7th region and head to Rupp this year.

Scott County 73 Mason County 68
centuriondawg replied to Read My Lips's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I predicted 72-67 on the predictions post. Man only if I could predict the NFL games on sunday that well, I'd be a rich man. -
Top 10 in the state?? I would have to say no. I would put them around 15-20 range. I saw Male play J-town earlier in the year with Heyman playing and he is such a force in the middle. He was by far Male's best rebounder and you could tell tonight that they were missing him on the boards badly. Male has, I believe 8-9 seniors. Word was at the Male game tonight that with this injury Heyman may never put a Bulldog basketball jersey on again. He is a stellar football player and may not play b-ball next year to stay away from injury.

Great game by both teams. I was very impressed by Warren Central. They have a solid team led by the Anderson kid, who played well tonight. Male is sorely missing Dexter Heyman. WC was able to get to the rim whenever they wanted to and Male without Heyman had no answer. Carree for Male played excellent in the post in the first half, but WC put a stop to that in the second half and Male had trouble scoring down low. Great defensive battle between both teams. I would love to see WC's defense against Jeff Brooks and Doss tomorrow. Good luck to WC the rest of the way.

Jacobs did ok. Thought he would have dominated more with Heyman out. I love watching him because he goes hard every minute of every possesion. Noticed he gets angry very easily though. I noticed him yelling at some of his players. I figure it is just his passion. I think he could be a stellar college player.

Louisville being Disrespected????
centuriondawg replied to Jcice24's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
There are quite a few people on here from the Louisville area, but majority are from outer counties. One reason I believe there are not as many Louisville people on here is because people out in the state love thier high school basketball more. Not saying people in Louisville aren't as interested because I am one that loves high school basketball, but people out in the state take it more seriously and are into it more. -
Bryan Station vs. Lou. Eastern in the L.I.T.
centuriondawg replied to Gumbo Daddy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Bryan Station is more athletic in this match up and wins by 8 points. -
Male played without Dexter Heyman. I saw him on crutches during the game. Over heard someone say he broke his ankle. Don't know if that is 100% correct or not. Hopefully someone on here knows for sure. If he is lost for the year, Male will struggle. They won tonight but didn't look like the same team. Dexter is there main man down low and is a big key to them winning. Some other results from the LIT: Fairdale beat E-Town 66-63. Pettigrew was in foul trouble some and had 24 points. Ballard beat PRP by about 20 (don't know the final score). Ballard led big all the way. PRP struggled with Ballards pressure defense. Gowers for Ballard was 4 of 4 from three point range in the first quarter.

165pts and 51 rebs in 10 days/4 games
centuriondawg replied to King Rex's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
He had a season low 24 points tonight against Fairdale in the LIT. 24 points for a season low is pretty darn good.
