The USGA turned the Saturday section of the tournament to whoever had the most lucky breaks and bounces were the winners, not who had the most talent. Or whoever played earlier in the day had a little amount of moisture on the greens and were saved by that fact. The ones in the afternoon played on shiny grayish greens faster than an asphalt road. The USGA got a big black eye as a result of their decisions in this US Open. They did the same...

My dad was in the Normandy invasion on D-Day June 6, 1944. He landed at Omaha Beach. He passed away in 1995. He would occasionally say a few things when asked about the invasion but he didn’t like to talk about it. My brother was in Vietnam. In our family cemetery there’s several relatives that fought with the Union during the Civil War.

Saw where Goodman said on Twitter that they were both Nike sponsored throughout their high school days. Nike has to feel pretty bummed about this I suppose.

That 3 putt for DJ on number 11 is an untimely unforced error. Not many holes left to play and trailing by 2.

This crowd is louder than at most of the regular tour events. Some of the gallery sound like they’re at a pro wrestling match.

The USGA is making this sort of course setup too frequent for the US Open. Most of the golfers aren’t making negative statements due to backlash but you can tell by their body language that they’re pretty disgusted.

I could skip the tee shots and approach shots and lay my ball down 40 feet from the hole for a birdie putt on all 18 holes and couldn’t break 100, lol. Those greens are ridiculous.

Hazard’s pitcher, Morris, did a great job against a tough offensive lineup but in the end the Tigers were just too much to handle. Good defensive team too, as the Hazard radio announcers were giving them accolades for some nice defensive plays against the Bulldogs after they had made solid contact.

I realize this is a big major tournament but the USGA has this course to where it’s almost unfair and unreasonable. When you hit a great shot within a few feet of a hole and it slowly trickles into a deep bunker, well that’s a little too much tricking up a course to make it harder. Good shots should be rewarded not penalized.

$2.51 at Sam’s Club in a Lexington today. But it’s $3.00 in my hometown of Booneville.

Same here. I expected more from him. The Indiana fans sitting behind us, and there were plenty in the building as they made up at least 70% in attendance, said that he was like a god in the part of the state and the reason so many Indiana fans were present. But unless he was feeling sick or uninspired he didn’t show me much what time I saw him before I left during the second half.

Multiple sources on Twitter are predicting Reid transferring to Kentucky. 6’8 power forward who average 19 points last year and was All-Conference. Eligible immediately.

Putting two high quality D-1 prospects on the same team (Zion and Moreno)and surrounded by a talented supporting cast should put Scott County as a national power next year and favorite to win the state title.

Stopped in at Hardee’s in Jackson today and paid $8 + for a burger and shake. The burger wasn’t great....too much mustard and some other sauce like stuff on it, and with the lettuce and tomatoes I couldn’t even hold it together between the buns to eat it. And the shake was as thin as milk. I didn’t even drink half of it. A shake I got at the Hardee’s in London a few weeks ago was the same way...thin and watery. I think I’ll cross Hardee’s...

If the family or player announces beforehand that the move is for athletic reasons it is definitely a direct violation of KHSAA rules. The KHSAA has grounds to rule him ineligible according to their By-Laws/Rules that every school agrees to abide by in order to be a member of the organization. If schools know this in advance why would they want to challenge it in court, which I'm not naive, I know it has been abused by schools for years using...

It is. And unless the KHSAA rules have changed since I was an AD before retirement in ‘05 any transfers for athletic purposes is a no-no. Back in the day most of the transfers would say it was a move for academic purposes but this kid and family have already announced to the world by social media that they were school shopping for athletic reasons.

I mow once per week, usually Thursday or Friday weather permitting. I purchased my 17.5 and 42 inch cut Yardman mower in 2002 and it’s still operating okay except for the occasional maintenance such as replacing belts.

I know the game jahearme is talking about. Foursome counting two best scores per hole vs other foursomes playing the same way. We play that game at my local course all the time for usually $2 to $5 per foursome. In my case I always manage to keep my “around” scores on the low end of the “around” when someone asks me in the clubhouse what I shot. But jahearme’s game is about 100X better than mine, lol. He probably goes in the other direction. His...

I don’t keep up with high school football very much but I noticed there aren’t any teams on this top 5 list located west of I-75 (unless Beechwood is on the left side of the interstate). Is the east section of the state that much stronger in class A than the central or west?

I think Estill County has won the 56th district every year since they were moved from the 10th region to the 14th in 2006. 13 straight I believe. They’ve also won the region every year but 2, maybe 3.

I agree with this. Japan, UK, the Scandinavian countries, Australia, etc, have extremely low gun related deaths. What are their laws and what are they doing different than the USA? Maybe our lawmakers can copy whatever they’re doing and come up with some solutions.
