10 Good
  1. The weekly MAXpreps national poll has Cincy St X at #2, Trinity at #20 and Dematha at #25.
  2. Cats Eye I am glad to hear the good news. Thank you for your service!!!! Because of you and all of the patriots who protect our land, my family and I celebrate 6 years of peace in the homeland today, 6 years to my knowledge, without an American killed in the homeland by an Islamic terrorist. I never dreamed on 9/11/01 that I would be able to make such a statement. As the son of a WWII US Army veteran, a nephew of 2 WWII US Army casualties (1 KIA by the Japanese and 1 Blinded for life by a Japanese sniper) and myself a 2 tour Vietnam veteran and my family, I am standing up beside my computer right now and saluting you SIR, for your part in a job well done!!! May God Bless you and keep you safe.
  3. Oh no, Auburn ain't no GOOD!! Yep, that seems to be the general consensus of the SEC fans on this board. I wonder if that's what they are saying on the Florida and LSU boards, surely not since AU beat both of them on this same field less than 12 months ago. Auburn your 15 minutes of fame are up. Sorry, once you lose to a Big East team, you ain't Shhhi!!!!!!!!!!!!!tttttt.
  4. I don't see USC as a nearly unamimous consensus #1 pick. I see this year as just about as wide open as it can be with the BCS setup. USC's past records speak for themselves but so does their loss to Oregon State and their regular season finale loss to a 7-6 UCLA team, when they scored only 9 points. We can agree that it does look like they have a nice group of freshmen and that USC is 9/5 for the NC, I just don't want any of it.
  5. Yeah UL 's defense was lousy but MTSU played a whale of a game as well. Some times extended success like the Cards have had, gives you the big head and you begin to believe that you are genetically better than your opponent. Plus you hear it and read over and over again just how great you are. Then you run into little ole MTSU, a team who won their league and went to a bowl game last year. A team who thought before the season that this was the year they were going to arrive on the big time. Only to have their hopes squashed on the road in their first game. So they come in hear with something to prove, a singleness of purpose and a true team effort. Yeah UL's defense was poor but MTSU was a very determined group who played a great game and stood toe to toe with the Cards and almost pulled it out. They gave the Cards something that even the greatest coaches can't give. AN ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!!!! PS. UK is dealing with a somewhat similiar predicament today. PSS. MTSU goes to LSU next week, the week after LSU beats highly ranked VaTech, if MTSU gets 41 points I'm in.
  6. 2005- UL 63 Oregon State 27 2006- Oregon State 33 USC 31 2007- UC 34 Oregon State 3 Little things like this make me think that maybe just maybe USC should not be a near unamimous consensus #1 pick.
  7. Va T is averaging 20 pts per game for their last 7 games against mostly ACC teams. Will be lucky to get 14 here. They will need a massive defensive effort to pull this off. LSU 20-7.
  8. I am with you Boondock. USC was a great team in "04 NC" and '05 41-38 vs Texas but last year they were overated. They lost to an slightly above average Oregon State team and to rival UCLA who was 7-6. They opened with a 38-10 rout of Idaho, a 4-8 team a year ago who was beaten by 5tds 5 times last year. They are definitely Top Ten but not even close to a consensus #1. If Nebraska, who hasn't been to a BCS bowl in 5 years, can get by Wake Forest this weekend then I am on board with the Huskers and the points in Lincoln.
  9. Much like the Cats, Kent St is riding huge momentum. Coming off 1st winning season since 2001, only second since 1987. Favored as one of the teams to beat in the MAC this year. Then, open your season with your first win over a D-1 team in Iowa State since 1987, even though they turned it over 3 times in the 1st half inside Iowa St 20 yard line. Cats must play with intensity. Cats 34-24
  10. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the big win over TM but 250 rushing is hard to beat. I have seen BG. They have an outstanding team. Offensively, excellent RBs, QB D1 passer with speed 80 yd TD run against Trinity, 2 D1 receivers. Very good defense. only weakness I saw was depth, they ran out of gas a little bit in the 4th against the Rocks and that hurt them. I'd like to hear the Guru's impression of a possible BG and HHS game and his thoughts on Trinity and Cincy St X now that he has seen them all in person.
  11. Not surprised in the least, HHS finally played an Ohio school that was its size and proved once and for all that they can compete with Ohio schools their size. No upset here.
