  1. Howard, Fugate, and Thompson were in the stands looking like someone just smacked their mother while they were away. We all know (whether we'll admit it or not) that this is the reason the game did not take place last year. Breathitt was a long shot from beating Jackson last year. Another thing, Jackson and Breathitt split the money from the game. Breathitt's Administration gave away hundreds of tickets at school that day and were letting folks in free like crazy. I was one of them. First game at Breathitt I did not have to pay for in my life. Breathitt also would not let Jackson's people in or around the ticket booth. Someone mentioned home cooking! HA! Jackson ahead by 2 at the half and get blowed out the second half. Looks funny on the surface alone. Davidson was held all night and Watkins was beat to death, just for starters. Jackson waisted their time blocking out because they ended up flying over the baseline. I knew this would happen though. Don't even know why I went to the game. Jackson beating Breathitt, they'll never let it happen. When Jackson has a much better team like last year. Breathitt's says their schedule is full (about 10 games scheduled). When it's much closer, the sixth man factor. If I don't change my mind, you wont hear from me again. I'm done with KHSAA basketball. I think I'll switch to Rollerderby! Shame Shame, their all kids. In addition. It was pathetic the way Jackson's fans were treated. Breathitt's pep section was behind one goal and Jackson's another. When Jackson jumped out to a 10 point lead. Breathitt's bunch had the Police make Jackson's fans set down. Breathitt's pep club stood all night. What a Joke! Oh my God! That one will never leave my mind. This is bad folks. Especially to live in the same community. I know I've stepped on some toes here but I'm tired of watching Jackson get kicked in the stomach. I'm done here. Goodbye to all my friends on BGP.
  2. I was one who opened my mouth last year and said JBS was a little over rated, but when it came down to it, they were in the thick of things taking Hazard to OT in the semi. Jackson City was said to be over rated last season also but they proved to be a top dog. JBS (IMO) is the team to go through to make it to Lexington in March.
  3. If you want to go to Rupp, you'll have to beat JBS I'm afraid! I knew they would be tuff!
  4. This game should have taken place last year! Why it didn't? Two words: Howard, and Fugate! Good luck to Jackson. I'll still be pulling for them!
  5. if it is a close game i will pick Jackson. Because if it comes down to coaching Jackson will have an advantage with Brian Hall.
  6. Those of you that are basketball fans, this was "Iddy biddy Jackson City" who made their remarkable run in boys basketball this year. Looks like the ladies are stepping up to the plate also. Go Tigers!
  7. Yeah, there's no school in the state that would violate this rule. :creepy:
  8. Someone once said that Jackson City in no way matched up with Leslie County. Another said that Leslie could put 3 players out on the floor and beat Jackson City. Final score: Jackson City 65 Leslie County 64. If Hazard goes out and plays with Heart, then it's a proven fact that they will match up just fine. Good luck Hazard, represent us well!
  9. Not to take anything away from Hazard, as they are a great team and deserved to win, but after talking with many folks here in the community, I realized that very few were aware of Howard's injury. Howard was injured the night before against Leslie County and was playing with an ankle twice it's normal size and was about 50% healthy. Once agian, not taking anything away from Hazard at all, but IMO if Howard would have been 100%, I think the City would have made that trip to Rupp. I just think it would have been a different ball game. Congrats to Hazard though, and Good Luck against Madison Central.
  10. I would just like to extend my congradulations to Jackson City's coaching staff, Head Coach Mr. Kyle Lively, assistanst Mr. Ryan Turner and Mr. John Couch. These kids not only believed in theirselves but they believed in you gentlemen also. You put your heart and soul into this team and everything has paid off greatly for you. So one last time, Thank you guys! Also, thanks to the fans who supported this group of Champions all year long and thanks to those whom we picked up on the way. It was everyone who helped carry this team through some tough games. Anyone who jumped onto the bandwaggon and helped us, thank you for your support. Thanks to the Breathitt County fans who came out and supported us. That really ment a lot to this team and it's fans. We need to come out each and every year and do the same for each other, because there is strength in numbers and we are all one big community. Riverside's fans were there also and thank you guys so much as Riverside has always felt like family to Jackson City. Thanks to all, and Go Tigers!!!!
  11. I just wanted to let everyone know what a "Class Act" Mr. Cody Gilbert of the Wolfe County Wolves is. After Jackson City lost it's 14th Regional Championship game but came home with the school's first ever Runner-up trophy, the Police, Sheriff, Fire Depts, ect.. gave Jackson City an escort from the Breathitt/Perry County line through town and up to their school. On the way to the school, standing in the Lee's College parking lot was Mr. Cody Gilbert jumping up and down and screaming and yelling and cheering on Jackson City, I'll have to admit that it brought a tear to my eye. What a show of class by this young man and what a great way to represent Wolfe County and it's team. He even showed up at the school and congradulated some of the players and wished them well. I'll follow Cody where ever he goes to play and cheer him on as often as I can. What a wonderful kid and what a Great basketball player! :thumb:
  12. Congradulations to Johnson Central. You guys make great Champions. Play your hearts out at Rupp!
  13. I will miss them also. A fine bunch of kids who have been great to watch over the last several years. Good luck boys in where ever your future takes you.
  14. First off congradulations to Hazard on their hard fought 14th Region Championship, you worked hard for it and represent us well next week. CONGRADULATIONS to My Jackson City Tigers on a GREAT season and one heck of a run. You took all your fans on one heck of a ride. You gave so many people hope in so many aspects of their lives. "Never Quit". You have set an example for people to overcome and do the unthinkable no matter what the odds. You guys have been great and NO ONE will ever forget you. You boys are Champions in most people's eyes and you will remain Champions. When most folks counted you out, you never let it bother you and just went out and got the job done. Thanks for pouring your hearts out and making Jackson City a team and a school to be RESPECTED, and most of all, Thanks for the Wonderful Ride!!!! I'll never forget it and neither will the world. Go Tigers!
  15. I'm soooo PROUD of these boys! They are truly my Heros! I knew they could do it. These kids played with Heart, Heart, Heart! Just as I prayed they would. One more game Tigers! Play like you have never played before!!!! Also hats off to the Leslie County team, especially the seniors. They are a fine group of boys and you should keep your heads up as you have had great carreers. These kids have a lot of class. Speaking of class, thanks so much to the Leslie fans who came out onto the floor and congradulated the players and fans of Jackson City and the Leslie fans who congradulated them outside of the gym after the game. Classy folks you are. Thanks again, and Go Tigers bring it home!!!!
