Yeah. Political correctness changed the old "fact" of the world being flat into round as well. Darn PC culture driving Aristotle to such heresy.

Fine for your opinion, but you should be aware that the PROFESSIONALS in this area are evolving on this topic. "In 2014, the WHO acknowledged that linking transgender people to mental illness is harmful and pledged to remove the link from their next International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD)óbut this version isnít slated for release until sometime in 2017."

Ask plenty of military (then and probably now) if they liked the idea of serving with a black person / Jew / white person / gay person / woman, etc. and you would have gotten a lot of "no" votes. The military is the last place where anyone should suggest that "majority rules, even when they're dead wrong." It was wrong with those bans and it is wrong with this ban. Judgment should be made on force readiness, not gender orientation.

Feed the base some "red meat" and throw the media attention off of the "other distractions" his administration is engaged in. If he really wanted unit cohesion and cost reduction, he would have had an implementing strategy instead of a "tweet storm." As indicated above, Joint Chiefs have said "business as usual until we get a formal order / plan."

Why wouldn't you want that determined on a case-by-case basis by a professional rather than a blanket statement about a group of people?

Agree that protesting the actual scouts in 2000 was wrong. That said, it was during a time when the BSA position on homosexuality in scouting was very restrictive (as were many viewpoints on homosexuality at that time). Of course, the BSA position has "evolved" (like most of society) on the subject such that the ban for membership was removed in 2014 and the ban on adult leaders being gay was removed in 2015. I would argue the error in 2000...

Any of the Trump supporters care to defend his speech / ramblings to the National Boy Scout Jamboree? Focus on his "fake news" and "fake polls" diatribe during the speech was inappropriate. I have no problem with his "You're fired" joke to Tom Price about getting the healthcare votes since it was obviously a joke. Media outlets focusing on this line show their bias. This was not the audience for lines such as "killing this horrible...

As pointed out above, unless and until folks are willing to turn away those who cannot pay and withhold service from them (regardless of the outcome), we already have universal HC. The costs of those services are spread out to those who do have insurance or the ability to pay. Additionally, it pushes those without insurance to the least efficient providers of services - urgent care and ERs AND it forces them to those providers when their...

He has the option, like any other citizen facing criminal exposure. That said, as a police officer there will ultimately be consequences if he fails to cooperate with the investigation. Outside of any potential criminal exposure, he could definitely lose his job and potential benefits he has earned simply as a result of his failure to cooperate and tell what happened in the investigation. That said, the fact that he has a union representing him...

I'm closer to AllenR here. Not a spoiler, but if you don't know going in that there are 3 separate stories on 3 different timelines that will converge, it is pretty confusing and hard to follow for the 1st 1/3 to 1/2 of the movie. Additionally, there is very little dialogue and much of the small amount of dialogue that was there was very hard to hear / understand. Low volume and heavy accents didn't help. Couple of stirring scenes where you'd...

Lots of theories that Trump and his people are the leakers in this instance - despite his tweets complaining about leaks, of course, without denying the leaks are accurate.

Believe his "summer ball" coaching experience has been with the Swish organization. Don't think he ever coached Ally once she was beyond "rec leagues." Echo the sentiments above that he is very smart and passionate about the game. Wish him well.

Republican v. Democrat is now about as intellectually stimulating as tOSU v. Mich, UK v. UofL and Anyone v. Notre Dame. The facts are largely irrelevant. Neither side listens to the other. Both sides are intent on tearing the other down. Wins and Losses are the only measure of success - not how the game is played or the best interests of the larger game / country. Most "fans" would rather see their candidates win and the other side lose than...

DT Jr. is, at best, guilty of poor judgment and attempted stupidity. He released the emails because he rightly determined that him doing so would be better than having the NY Times do it. They clearly show he, Kushner and Manafort went to the meeting hoping to get negative information regarding Clinton from someone close to / within the Russian government. I personally don't care if it's collusion, election law violation, treason, etc. It was...

Stupid move by Paul not to put both Cody and Jessica on the block. When they are clearly the 2 top targets in the house, you have to make sure 1 of them goes home this week. Only way to do that is to put both on the block. Otherwise, if Cody or Jessica randomly get picked to play Veto and win, neither go home and you have to take someone else out. UNLESS, Paul's big plan is to take someone else out this week. Seems unlikely based on what...

I think you're seeing what you want to see. As VOR said, "Votto tied for first in the NL in walks. On pace for the third most walks in a season in his career." He is walking just as much as always (actually more). Slugging suggests the hits he is getting are more XBH than singles. Given that XBH (particularly HRs) are up across MLB, I'd like to see how much Votto's increase in XBH ('17 v. '16) exceeds the MLB increase '17 v. '16).

They would get the #3 pick AND whatever their 2018 pick would naturally be as well. Not sure how the signing pool would be impacted by having 2 very high picks (assuming the Reds don't catch fire in the 2nd half of the season :)).

A few additional Qs for 278 & Lipton (and anyone else that wants to weigh in -- trying to stay between the constructive guardrails) 1 - do you think Fox News is "fair and balanced" or just "equally slanted but at least from the conservative side of things for a change?" 2 - Assume you include MSNBC, PBS and the networks (CBS, ABC & NBC) along with CNN in the MSM / "left wing media." If so, what news outlets are not part of the MSM / "left...

I assume Lipton and 278 would take the position that NPR tweeting the Declaration of Independence yesterday was another example of the MSM or "left wing media" taking shots at Trump, right? (This despite the fact that NPR has read the Declaration of Independence on their morning show for the past several years.)

Cubs getting shutout by the Reds in GABP should count as 2 losses. If they had gotten no-hit, they should've been required to forfeit the weekend series. :)

Why would the 8 hitter get better pitches to hit than someone higher in the order? If he's batting in front of Votto or Duvall, maybe but I don't envision Peraza hitting in the 2 hole for any reason. However, no P in his right mind is gonna throw good pitches to anyone who's followed by the P and Hamilton (other than the fact that he's a mediocre hitter at best - but that's true regardless of where he is in the lineup).
