  1. The 4th down play call was one that Beechwood had not stopped all game....until then, so it was a good call in my opinion. BW did an excellent job defending it and now the call can be second guessed. BTW, same scenario, same call in the 1st half= TD. Eagles went for on 4th down instead of the FG on the opposite end and came away with 6, no one is second guessing that call now. Rains made gutsy calls the whole game and most of them worked out in LCAs favor. I was very impressed with LCAs players- down 14, they didn't give up, down 10 late, didn't hang their heads- they played their hearts out- as did the BW kids. It was a fun game, that in the end could have gone either way. Congrats to BW!
  2. According to the article, he isn't interested in coaching at all right now.
  3. FHS's O-Line is not why they won the 1st game- watch the film.
  4. I hear the next 2 seasons could put Boyle right back in the mix of things.
  5. Kaelin has several things working right now. The next week or two will be busy for him. He seems to be getting quite a bit of interest late in the game.
  6. As fas as I can tell FC has moved forward each of the past 4 seasons. FC has been in an 8 team district the past 4 seasons too which means they could only schedule 3 non district teams at the very beginning of the season. Not a lot of room to do much with a schedule under those conditions. 2007-08 schedule Louisville Western (10-2) 4A Lafayette (10-1) 6A Western Hills (3-7) 3A Frankfort (9-3) 1A Pendleton district Woodford (8-4) 5A Bourbon district Oldham (2-8) 5A Harrison district East Jessamine (8-3) 4A
  7. I agree, it's fun to debate how others see this thing. I think Ammons wound up 2nd because he does both run and pass- he did run for more yardage than Beaumont and passed for more than Petrino, but isn't actually considered a pure QB or RB, so I can see how things could work out. And that can also make some sense when looking at the all-state balloting.
  8. The last play was a roll out pass, so the QB could throw if it was there or run it if not. Came up inches short.
  9. And fielded a punt....Good all around game for the Flyers, all phases made plays.
  10. David was average in size, strength, etc. What he did do was to play as he was coached. That's why he and O'Cath were successful. My point is, the qb in this type of system doesn't have to be superhuman, an average quarterback with average receivers and runningbacks behind an average line can run this offense and be successful.
  11. O'Cath went to back to back championship games with 2 different QB's- one very good and one very average. Zach Bernard is at Marshall, David Woodward led them last year.
