This system as of this morning still has a 90% chance of forming into at least a tropical storm. The Canadian model has it strengthing to winds up to 40kts(46 mph). A system becomes a tropical storm when winds reach 34 to 63 knots. We are still a few days away so things could change. For now, landfall looks like it could occur Monday afternoon in the panhandle of Florida. Some could receive upwards of 5+ inches of rain. Updates...

The National Hurricane Center says there's still a 70% chance that a tropical depression will form within 5 days in the Gulf of Mexico. Whether it forms into one or not this system is forecasted to drop heavy rain totals in parts of Flordia and Georgia and Mississippi. This is contingent on where the system makes landfall. The exact track is still up in the air. The following is the 48-hour rainfall totals ending Monday night at 8 pm EDT. ...

The chance of development is on the increase. Now it is between 40-60% in the 5-outlook. This simulation is from the Canadian GDPS model. If this holds true Memorial Day will be a day to watch the weather.

The threat level has subsided some but there still remains a threat for strong to severe storms later today. For now, it seems it like it will be a more scattered storm event. The Storm Prediction Center has lowered their threat level to a Marginal Risk Area. The main threats from these possible storms look to be damaging winds and hail. The timing looks to be from between 8-11 pm EDT. There seem to be two separate batches of storms that could...

There is a chance of strong to severe storms late Sunday afternoon into the evening hours. Supercell storm development will be possible. These storms could produce damaging winds, hail. A weak tornado could be also possible. The Cincinnati/NKY area should see a line of showers and storms early during the day. The severe weather looks to develop around 5 pm then move across most of Kentucky. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of Kentucky...

The potential is there for the formation of strong to severe storm later today for parts of Kentucky. The Storm Prediction Center has some of Kentucky in a Marginal Risk Area for severe storms. The conditions look to be favorable for scattered supercell storm development that could produce damaging winds and hail. While the tornado threat is low at the moment a weak tornado or two can't be completely ruled out. As for the timing the...
