  4. Anyone have an idea of the schedule for the regional tournament? we all obviously know that teams won't be decided until the week prior, but I was meaning what dates the games will be played on? I think it would be safe to assume the boys first round games will be Monday and Tuesday, but after that, the schedule would get complicated due to Northern Kentucky University having priority on the facility with home basketball doubleheaders against the University of North Florida (Thurs., Feb. 28, 2013) and Jacksonville University (Sat., March 2, 2013), which will be Senior Day for the Norse. Here is an idea that might not sound the greatest, but it would fit all the games of both the boys and girls regionals along with the NKU games as well. Mon., Feb. 25 - Boys QF Tue., Feb. 26 - Boys QF Wed., Feb. 27 - Boys SF Thu., Feb. 28 - NKU v/s North Florida Fri., Mar. 1 - Boys Final Sat., Mar. 2 - NKU v/s Jacksonville Sun., Mar. 3 - Girls QFs (have two separate sessions) Mon., Mar. 4 - Girls SF Tue., Mar. 5 - Girs Final The reason why I think this will be the best schedule is that the boys final needs to be played as the highlight game of the regional tournament as it will draw a bunch of fans so why not have it at like 7pm or 7:30pm on Friday night and then the girls tournament could have all of their games at the BOKC without the thought of having any of their first round games at a high school gymnasium. Any thoughts/constructive criticism for the schedule I proposed?
  5. Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional Pick 'em gives you a chance to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Lexington/Central Ky, Louisville, and WKY. Each region will have five games to pick from each week. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. The overall state winner after the playoffs will get a grand prize custom made for you. The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games for Week 8 in the Northern KY Regional contest are: Bracken County/Eminence Cooper/South Oldham Ryle/Conner Boone County/Simon Kenton Gallatin County/Walton-Verona

  7. Russell County will have to do a better job of hanging onto the ball if they want to beat Knox Central and make it far in the playoffs. I liked a lot of things I saw from the Lakers but they seem to be turnover prone. Britt is super fast and will make a FCS coach happy to have him...his size is the only thing holding him back. One other thing I saw is that Blake Ellis is a pretty good receiver as well and if he's not getting at least FCS attention, then something is wrong. He is a pretty good wide receiver but I think could be a good college tight end if he bulked up a little. Russell County however will need to look to get other receivers into the action as Ellis and Britt combined for all 10 completions from QB1 Barton Mann. The slip screen play is good but to go deep in the playoffs they will need to get other receivers into the action with some down-the-field passes.
  8. Close but no cigar. Getting closer each week. lol. Just wish I could make up ground on the leaders for the overall standings.
  9. I never said that and don't know where that came from. I was simply answering a question that was asked by Heartbreaker.
