Haven't seen John Hardin play. Just looking at scores and statistics they are going to have a struggle with Meade County. Meade County is big and physical where they need to be and athletic where they need to be. Zach Babb (#11) runs hard downhill and displays amazing balance. One tackler will not bring him down and he will go through arm tackles like a turnstile. Maybe the best athlete on the field is C. J. Hylander (#7). ...

Just out of curiosity, how do you rank Shelby over Franklin-Simpson. Shelby was annihilated by Meade County. FS and Meade battled till the last second. Just to stir the pot.

FS has played five games. Four have been running clocks. The Meade County game was a back and forth nail biter but was flawed by excessive officiating. The Shelby v Meade game was played in a hurricane that greatly affected Shelby CO's option offense. Lots of fumbles. 4A may be flawed but with the exception of JC it should be competitive. Someone said JC is head and shoulders above the rest. True literally and figuratively.

291 yards of penalties marked off in a 48 minute high school game is atrocious. Throwing a flag from 35 yards away is not your call. You either have the catch or the line. Not both.

The first Franklin-Simpson v. Glasgow game was October 20, 1944 in Franklin. The Scotties won 8 of the first 9 meetings. Franklin-Simpson currently holds a 33-23 advantage in the series. FS, BGHS, Glasgow, and Russellville made up the SKY Conference that started around 1950 or 51. Game #57 in Glasgow should be a good one.

We knew going into the season this team could be 1-4 or 5-0 halfway through. We also knew this team had(has) the potential to play in Lexington in December. The Meade game was a toss up throughout. 300 yards of penalties favored or harmed neither team but it was a total disruption of the flow in a competitive game. We will see how the next six weeks progress before passing any judgment regarding g the 2017 FS Wildcats.

Also you would do well to not be slamming a 14 year old kid and ignore the two adults that were ejected from the game.

Major letdown? You evidently have paid no attention to this Meade County team that absolutely mauled Shelby County. The FS v Meade game literally came some to the last play of the game.

This was a great football game. It came down to the last play. FS missed a FG that would have sent it to OT. The sad part is that most everyone who was at the game will remember the nearly 300 yards of penalties flagged. Not the tremendous effort of the two teams on the field.

Why do we call it FOOTball? KICK the extra point. Punt the ball. Kickoff. There is also the forgotten Free Kick.

Dan Patrick made some excellent points regarding this on his radio show yesterday. He stated that when he and Olberman did SportsCenter that Olberman never mentioned politics. He is right, I was a huge fan of SC then and could not have made any judgement regarding either man's political leanings. As we all learned later Olberman is a highly political person. He also made the point that it is much tougher today to avoid totally due to...

As a concussion specialist, I see the notable increase in concussion diagnosis across the board in all sports. In response to a Sept. 12 article that stated orthopedic surgeons should not support football, I feel strongly that the focus needs to be on solving the problem of concussions, not blaming football and fanning the flames of fear that our society has regarding concussions. The stand these orthopedic surgeons are taking is...

Meade Co has pretty decent speed. Not anything like Elizabethtown but very respectable. The fullback #35 is pretty much a load and does a good job both as a blocker for RB #11 and running the ball a well. The work horse is #11. He just gets rolling and runs through tackles. #20 is one to watch as well. He looks as though he came out of the same mold as the other two. They whipped a pretty good Shelby County team in the Harvey rain that...

We were taught to tackle with our face mask between the numbers. Neck rolls certainly did more than make one look bigger. They protected from neck and head injuries especially during the suspension helmet days. At 6'5" and 230 I didn't need to "look" bigger, I needed the protection a neck roll provided.

A Franklin-Simpson player stayed on the turf for at least twenty minutes without moving last week. He was transported to the Medical Center via ambulance. Diagnosed as a sprained neck. He was told by the trainer and EMTs to not move. He played this past week. Extreme caution is standard procedure now. Why do players no longer wear neck rolls?

FS rolled up 504 total yards on offense, 469 of that on the ground in 20 rushing attempts. Tre Bass, Saul Brady, and Tredric Partinger all went over 100 yds rushing Greenwood totaled 98 total yards on 31 attempts after averaging over 400 yds/game in its first three games. Two interceptions and three fumbles lost contributed to GW's rough night.

I took a quick look at Meade last night. They are large. They have a running back, Zach Babb, who is the "Ironman" of the Wave offense. He ran for 197 yards against Anderson County and 286 against Shelby County. The Green Wave is pretty much a smash mouth football team with 23 seniors on a 53 man roster.

South Warren moved this year why not move Logan and save the district 300 miles of unnecessary travel?

Nope. South Warren moved to 5A for the 2017 season. Logan did not compete for a district title last year.

A bit of a tangent here. Logan took a hiatus from competing for a playoff spot. They have now re-entered the fray in 4A region 1. The KHSAA has placed Logan in District 1. This means travel to Hopkinsville, Calloway Co., Madisonville-North Hopkins, and Hopkins County Central. The total round trip travel for these games is 562 miles. Had Logan been placed in District 2 along with Franklin-Simpson, Allen County, Warren East, and...

Region One is a Frolic. Rank the teams straight by record and you get this: Logan County 3-0 Wins over Butler Co, Muhlenberg Co. and Breckenridge Co. AC-S 3-0 Wins over Hart Co, Barren Co, and Greenwood Madisonville 2-1 Wins over Marshall and Murray, loss to Owensboro Warren East 2-1 Wins over Portland, TN and Greenwood Loss to Wayne Co. Franklin-Simpson 1-2 Losses to Elizabethtown and...
