2024 Lincoln County Patriots
gchs_uk9 replied to Shaquille_Oatmeal's topic in KY Football (High School)
They already are playing the next week. -
Add in a very winnable district (two of the other three schools are very small), a proximity to central Kentucky that might promote growth (something no other region school except Estill County can claim), and a solid basketball history (28 district titles and 2 state tournament appearances) and this is definitely a good job in the 14th Region.

Honestly, every lyric from that song works on this situation!

From last summer, the last paragraph in the article linked below. Clearly some bad blood between multiple parties in Monticello... The meeting was quickly adjourned with security officers clearing the board room during some heated verbal exchanges at the conclusion. Neal’s contract begins on August 1, 2023. Neal served the district for many years including as teacher, principal, and director of transportation. https://z93country.com/archives/354169/local-news/ -
Wasn't it middle of the night which would have limited the amount of traffic, too.

I assume one is Bruiser Flint, who seems to sit sideways on the bench and never say a word. I wonder who the other is? Maybe Chuck Martin, who came from Oregon?

Someone smarter about this than me can probably answer it better but Danville is larger than those schools listed. They still have right at 500 kids in the high school. Their tax base is still solid, although all the suburban land has been gobbled up by the Boyle County district over the last two decades. I think consolidation could happen but I'm not sure how imminent.

Another Note From the KHSAA Boys Sweet 16

I went to a Transy game this season and during a media timeout the PA man announced the camp for this summer. He then said it had been around for however-many years and asked anyone in the audience who had ever attended the camp to stand up. I'd say over half the gym stood up! -
What I like about Shaheen Holloway is how tough his teams are. They were a bubble team this year and didn't make it. He made a couple comments after the selection show about Seton Hall not getting picked, but then they've rolled through two rounds of the NIT (when teams who feel they were shafted often just pack it in). That tells me he has control and respect with the players. He is a Seton Hall alum and a New Jersey guy, but certainly Louisville could offer him money that Seton Hall likely couldn't match. He wouldn't be a bad option.

This shows the size and power of these container ships. The bridge folded like an erector set. Terribly sad situation. @Jumper_Dad mentioned the time of day; I think I saw something this morning that the rescue squad thought it was somewhere between 7-20 cars on the bridge when it collapsed.

Was a little surprised he wasn't considered for the Duke job when Coach K left.
