  1. Russellville is typically solid but after their run to the finals they graduated a ton. They might want to cancel, but they might also want to challenge themselves against a top-tier program like Tilghman in an effort to help prepare themselves for the better teams in Class 1A.
  2. While your point is valid, I think many people thought last year's Tilghman team was a better matchup for Boyle than CovCath. Football is all about matchups and sometimes A is better than B, B better than C, but C better than A. I don't know if Paducah Tilghman will be good enough to beat Boyle County, but I do hope we get a chance to see those two teams play.
  3. It's just a different world, isn't it. The people in this photo would have likely been wondering what happened to the soda fountain shop on Main Street that nobody goes to anymore.
  4. Based on what he's done in limited time at Nelson County that seems like an excellent choice.
  5. I don't think there really is anyone outside of Pope (remember, Ford was just fired from St. Louis). Of the six head coaches at Kentucky during the modern day, only Joe Hall was connected as a student/player, and he only played one season before transferring to Sewanee (although he was later an assistant coach to Rupp). Of course Tubby Smith was an assistant for a brief period as well. Kentucky has never really went the Duke/Carolina route of keeping it in house. That isn't a realistic option this time either.
  6. I'm glad she did. That's not a knock against Liberty, and I know her family has a long connection to that school, but she is a high-level talent. Like you, I expect UK to make their presence known.
  7. Same. No way is Barnhart going to hire a "big personality"-type that will be bigger than the program. From all indications his relationship with Cal wasn't good. I think a more down-to-earth type of coach like Scott Drew is way more in line with Mitch's way of thinking.
  8. They are so active both offensively and defensively. Just a joy of a team to watch. Far and away the best team in the country.
  9. Because there is more to coaching and teaching than winning regional titles.
  10. That is an excellent hire. Great coach and great guy.
  11. But UConn is getting closer and closer to that level. And for a New Jersey guy, I'm not sure he'd leave it.
  12. The transfer rules meant that was going to happen no matter who gets hired. And it happens a low-, mid-, and high-major jobs. Its just the nature of the game currently.
  13. In the newspaper article by Larry Vaught, Woods seemed pretty content to stay in Wayne County.
