They carried on a little longer, winning first round games in 1996 and 1998, sandwiched around a regional final loss to Murray in 1997. They've had two winning seasons since, going 6-5 in both 2005 and 2006.

Apparently the Bardstown/Fulton County game was on an almost frozen field. Bardstown had squeaked by Garrard County in a nail-biter the week before. Class A football had so many good teams in the early 1990s.

His size is what makes him stand out. His team was terrible and most of the offense rested on his throwing. He isn't a runner at all. His numbers are pretty good all things considered. 2017: 179-299, 2646 yards passing, 27 touchdowns, 8 interceptions; 196 yards rushing, 7 touchdowns 2016: 167-280, 2549 yards passing, 27 touchdowns, 5 interceptions; -72 yards rushing, 1 touchdown 2015: 144-269, 2333 yards passing, 22 touchdowns, 15...

If you are in 5A, you'd be in a district with state powers Christian County and Owensboro, solid program Graves County, and up-and-coming Ohio County (unless you hire their coach ;)) . You'll be opposite Bowling Green, South Warren, and Greenwood. The KHSAA has kept Districts 1 and 2 together in every class besides 6A so you'll have to beat those teams every year. If you are in 6A, the district isn't overwhelming. If they kept the western...

2019 Can't hurt. Everyone likes new things and a coach that doesn't have to worry about facility issues is a lucky man. Not really a big deal. The district is most likely going to be Daviess, Henderson, and McCracken. 6A playoffs can be a bear but Apollo has only won four playoff games and played in one regional final (2001) in their history. The bar is relatively low.

The last coach at Fulton County came out of retirement after having coached there in the 1980s. I'd imagine the number of applicants will be small. Second smallest football playing school in the state, with a four-year average of 80 boys in the entire school per year.

I'm curious if they are requiring teams to opt in or out of district play BEFORE the alignment comes out? It read like they wanted to stop the ease of dropping out and coming back in. If teams did drop out of 1A, however, I'd expect them to just drop two down from 2A and make it 32. with 38 left in 2A.

True. If Eminence and Jenkins stay independent then will KHSAA drop teams down to make an even 32 in 1A? That's a big question.

Unless someone from 1A chooses to play up, and that would floor me. Now, if anyone in 1A goes the non-district route (Jenkins did last year), does the KHSAA drop a 2A team down to assure 32 teams in 1A? That's an unknown - they haven't done it before but Tackett has said he doesn't like first round byes.

The problem is there are eight 5th region teams in Class 3A. They tend to push the central time teams west (Adair County/Hart County) and with Glasgow already there, I'm guessing the Nelson schools would be too far away from those three, while much closer to the Louisville teams, therefore putting them in District 3.

Not sure how many Kentucky kids have went to Wofford but it seems like they've recruited Kentucky pretty strong the last several years (no doubt because of Brown and Fuqua). A receiver from Lafayette went two years ago and a running back from Paintsville was there this year.

Thursday night games used to be fairly common during the first weekend in October. The statewide teachers union meeting was always the first Friday of October and many schools were closed that day, which pushed the games up one day. Almost all of the Jefferson County schools play on that Thursday night although it isn't nearly as common out in the state.

Did the defensive back think he was going to interfere? That's the only thing I can think happened there. Then, he knocks the only other possible tackler out. And how did Diggs not step out, just because you know he's thinking get out of bounds so we can kick.

Again, this is simply a prediction. I don't know who will play up. Once that information is known then everything, something, or nothing could change. We'll have to wait and see.

Points of interest: -In Class 1A, I'm predicting Bishop Brossart to continue playing in District 5 with their 10th Region brethren. They could easily be moved in with the four northern Kentucky schools, however. Class 1A looks very similar to how it has been drawn up in the past. -In Class 2A, the addition of a few new eastern Kentucky schools means Danville/LCA/Somerset will no longer have to travel such long distances in the playoffs. ...

First, this is only a prediction. Teams will have the option of playing up, and if several make that choice, it will blow this prediction to smithereens. I am simply making an educated guess based on past alignments, geography, distance between schools, and a desire to have all (or almost all) districts have at least four teams. If this isn't how it ultimately works out, please don't quote this post when you complain! :lol2: CLASS 1A...

There are FIVE weeks left in the regular season. Why couldn't you play the semifinals on Wednesday and the finals the next Wednesday. Or substitute another day over two weeks. Doesn't even have to be at Valley. Its three games TOTAL.

By the way, to everyone in this thread, "dropping to 4A" isn't an accurate statement. Their enrollment says they are 4A. They'd be playing in their assigned class.

According to the press release from the KHSAA: If a team does elect to play up, the lowest enrollment average school in the higher class would be given an option to go to the lower class. That procedure would be repeated a maximum of three times. 1/12/18 – Board of Control Expands State Archery Format, Reviews Initial Football Realignment Parameters | Kentucky High School Athletic Association I take that to mean that the three smallest...

Is Garrison good enough to make St. Patrick the second best team in the district? Is St. Patrick good enough to help out Garrison? What would the district rankings look like with him at St. Pat? This is still a drawn district, too, so that could effect everyone in the postseason as well.
