I Really like this Bath team. I can easily see them in the regional final.

We've reached the halfway point of the high school football regular season and in Class 3A all but one district has already seen district play begin. This week's 3A Notebook is going to peer into the crystal ball and provide a best case and worst case scenario for every team in the class. And before you get too caught up in the predictions - and post them in your favorite team's locker room or share it across social media - I'll remind you that...

I'll start: One summer in college I was taking classes and hoping to work part time. I took a job at Kroger, supposedly as a cashier, but it ultimately turned into stocking and bagging. I worked there for a month, progressively hating it more and more. After about three weeks I was done. I called the boss and said I wouldn't be in - it was about five minutes before I was to start. He said "if you quit, you can never use us on a resume!" ...

After Vontae Davis famously quit the Buffalo Bills at halftime on Sunday, Drew Magary asked his Twitter followers about their best quitting stories and then compiled them into a Deadspin article. I'm doing the same here. So below, post your best quitting story. This should generate some laughs!

Gotta change my comment here. I thought the game was at Henry County, which is an impossible place to watch a game. Any game at Central is awesome - I love that place!

Here's your answer, from Matt Overing's article in the Advocate-Messenger: Garrard would take the next nine minutes off of the clock, pounding the ball down to the Danville five yard line. Clevenger called timeout and gave his team its instructions. “We told our guys, let them score,” he said. “They were on the five yard line, we hadn’t stopped them all night and we were up six. I said we’re going to let them score and then we’ve got to...

Yep. And I think it's just a bad matchup for Tilghman.

I think there are two teams that can beat them - Male and St. X - and that number might drop to one after next week. I think Scott and Douglass can compete but I'd still call Trinity the favorite against both.

I think so too. If so, it was a smart move, one that no one ever makes. If you're Garrard, you have to score, because if you fall down on purpose before going in and then fail to score later you'd be crucified. Interesting little game of cat-and-mouse.

Play St. Xavier next week. District games with Eastern, Seneca, and Ballard in October. Paired with far western Kentucky district first three rounds of playoffs. State semifinal vs. District 3 team (Male, X, Butler, Manual). State championship likely vs. either Scott County or Frederick Douglass. Let's hear it?

Field being the operative word here. One of the most impossible places in Kentucky to watch a football game.

Quick question for you (and any Danville fan): did Danville let Garrard score with a minute left to make it 22-22 (Garrard missed the two-point conversion)?

True. My comment about dominating was more about how Garrard had the ball all night and Danville's defense couldn't get off the field. Honestly, Danville ran so few plays that it was tough to gauge much about what they were doing other than getting it to guys in space and letting them run free.

Same. However, historically Central has thrown in some stinkers in early district play. I think part of that is due to the brutal non-district schedule. After playing St. X and Manual and some of those other powers its tough to get ready to play a team like Henry County (no offense) who you are expected to dominate.

Union a paper tiger again? Thought they might have something for Caldwell and/or Tilghman. Crittenden is very good, as they showed against Caldwell, but if Union is going to compete at the next level they can't get smacked like this.

Time of possession I believe was 37 minutes for Garrard, 11 for Danville. Garrard dominated the entire game except for McGuire. And he was enough for the Admirals. Really exciting game.

Any event can have any price if people are willing to pay it. The NCAA has discovered that $12.50/15 is the amount people are willing to pay to watch D3 football. The KHSAA will/has found out that people are willing to pay $15 for high school football. That's supply and demand; there's no law that says one event shouldn't cost more than another just because the participants are older.

I think it will be 1A and 3A on Friday, 2A/4A/6A on Saturday, and 5A on Sunday afternoon.

It's tomorrow. KHSAA site has it on Friday and Mercer's coach tweeted about 30 minutes ago. I'm guessing this is a very, very early thread!
