  1. I am a Sophomore at the famed Scott high school our history is pretty well known by nky but i will tell the rest of the state. The school opened in 1979 as the third school in Kenton county. They haave never had a winning season on a varsity level the best season ever was a 5-5 record in 1988 with Doug Pelfrey on the team. They had to beat Highlands in the last game to get to the palyoffs and were winning 10-7 with seconds left when Highlands threw a pass that the safety missed breaking up by just inches. Several years after that Jeff McCarthy came to Taylor mill and won a few games his first year and everyone became excited thinking he would turn the program around but after that season he never won more than 3 games a year. 4 years ago the Eagles started the season defeating Lloyd and NewCath and then losing to dixie and losing 18 games in a row. Coach McCarthy resigned 2 years ago and a search committee found a Boone County assistant named R.J Riegler. He came in and changed everything, he bought all new equipment all new uniforms and completely modernized the locker and weight room. He brought in an assistant coach from Highlands who taught us the Highlands spread out 3 and 4 wide receiver offense. In the first game the eagles were down 35-6 and roared back scoring 22 unanswered points but in the end still fell short. They went 0-10 for the season, they didn’t ever have the lead in a game until the 6th game of the season vs. Grant county (they lost 38-45) and they allowed at least 30 points a game for each game. During their bye week before the Highlands game, the last game of the season, and they installed a power I and they realized that night that this was the offense of the future. Coach Lakes (from Highlands) left and coach Riegler moved to offense and brought in Nate Roedig, Barry Jones and Lee Turner from Cov Cath. We started the season 0-5 coming into Campell County when we defeated the 38-13. The next week we defeated Grant County 54-6 to secure our first ever playoff bid. We set many records that game including most points scored and largest margin of victory. We then defeated Holmes and lost to Highlands and CovCath. We went into our first playoff game against Bourbon County and scored 54 points for our first ever playoff win. We then lost to Highlands the next week and are now moving to a tough AAAA district in NKY. we finished the season 4-8
