  1. I've just read all 9 pages of this thread. Being a life long Greenwave, I just want to say how proud I am of my team and our facilities. I hope you feel welcome in Death Valley and have a good experience, except for the final score of course. I have the utmost respect for Trinity football. You guys are always a very good team with such a storied tradition. It will be fun to see where my county boys stack up with Trinity. I'm not going to predict a score but I promise we will play tough hard nosed old fashioned football on both sides of the ball. I hope that's good enough to come out with a victory. We shall see Friday night. GO BIG GREEN!
  2. I thought this thread was about "the fumble". It was a fumble. End of story.
  3. Anyone that ranks Collins ahead of Meade Co. needs to look at their matchup with 6A Central Hardin. They lost 36-32. Meade County absolutely destroyed Central Hardin. TWICE! They put the old "running clock" on them. TWICE!
  4. I'm sure the offensive player would rather have you call it a "pancake " block by him. Look I was at the game and it was definitely a live ball and should have been ruled as such with a TD awarded to Meade County. All this talk about "spearing and illegal defensive block is just silly. I will also add that there were still about 3 minutes left in the game so it doesn't necessarily mean that Meade would have won the game on this one play but it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if the correct call was made. It was a very hard fought and physical game by two teams pretty evenly matched. Good sportsmanship was shown by both teams and fans throughout. I'm extremely proud of the boys in Green. Congratulations to Scott County.
  5. Thanks joker. I've actually been a member since '02 when my son played for the Greenwaves. Just don't post much. But I enjoy high school football and like to read things here. Especially now. It's an exciting time to be from Meade Co.
  6. Joker. As other people have stated, comparative scores don't mean much. The other common opponent they share is North Hardin. Meade Co. won 48-0. While Scott Co. won by a score of 43-12. By comparative scoring, does that one make Meade Co. 17 points better than Scott Co.? I don't think so. But I will say with both teams running the Wing T offense it's going to be the team who plays the most disciplined on defense. That is what Meade Co. has done for the most part all season. I don't know much about Scott Co. in that regards. I'm sure they are very good also defensively. I know too that Meade Co.'s starting QB, Zeb Wilson suffered a torn labrum and was unable to throw the ball so he was replaced by his cousin John Wilson along about the Male game. He was moved to corner back and has helped the defense out tremendously in pass coverage. Scott Co. may very well win this one but they better snap their chin straps on tight because Meade Co. plays a very physical brand of football. I like my Greenwaves chances here. Meade Co. 28 Scott Co. 21. GO BIG GREEN!
  7. Both teams run the same offense. This should be interesting. Meade Co. plays a lot of kids both ways. I hope they don't get worn down late in the game. GO BIG GREEN!
  8. Defense is very solid. But as Meade pride said teams with a lot of speed can be a problem for us. Male and John Hardin were our only 2 losses. They have been able to control the line of scrimmage in most games and play a very physical brand of football. Nothing fancy on either side of the ball. The QB does a good job of hiding the ball and runs it pretty well. When teams start loading up the box they will throw a little dump pass to Embry the TE. Its kind of running back by committee but the Shacklett kid has been breaking some long runs. On defense it's just a true team effort with a very disciplined bunch that cover their responsibilities very well.
