  1. If it makes you guys feel better, Ironton just walloped Columbus Desales 69 to 54. Fouls were almost dead even 17 to 18 with many of Desales 18 fouls coming by intentional fouling late in the game. Desales has some marquee players on their team too, Clark Kellogg's son for one. I thought Ashland played Ironton very tough myself.
  2. Holbrook did nothing but impress us Ironton fans when we played Ashland this year. Many of us thought he was the best QB in the area.
  3. NCF, I know that Ironton, tied with Cincinnati Moeller, trails only Newark Catholic in the number of state playoff appearances in their school history. I know how many Ironton has but I've lost count of NC..could you fill me in as I'm doing some updating..here is the only way I can keep in touch with you seeing how JJ kicked me off JJ's Huddle.
  4. That is correct, they meet in the middle, toss a coin just like the beginning of the game. Then, they toss a coin again for another OT...so, with three overtime periods..they met in the middle of the field and tossed a coin four times for the evening...you don't see that too often. The second overtime period both teams attempted a field goal. Ironton's was just slightly off to the right. One has to wonder if it would have gone in on a high school's field? Of course..it's the same width on both sides for both teams.
  5. No one gave the Tigers a chance but Ironton fans. Predictions were a 20 or 30 point victory for Bellaire. I was worried they were right as Ironton went into the locker room at half-time down 21 to 0. Ironton tied it up in the second half with a punishing ground game mixed in with some well called pass plays and the game went into triple overtime before Bellaire finally managed to score. It was a great season for Ironton and a 'good loss' if there is any such thing. The kid from Bellaire, Nate Davis, has the best arm on a high school boy that I, personally, have ever seen. Ironton held them to 11 yards rushing on the night but that kid just kept flinging them and it seems he never misses. As good as he is at football I think his sport is basketball at the next level. I don't know what he's going to do but he could do either at a lot of different schools.
  6. Just wanted to let you all know something. About once a week there's a bunch of Ironton fans who get together for a lunch meeting. Most are 50 or older who go to them so in otherwords..we've all seen a lot of different schools. We were all discussing different schools that the Ironton Tigers have played all these years and it was agreed by the total majority that there's never been a group of people who have showed more class and treated us better than Belfry has done. Nothing but glowing comments came out about your team, your fans and your community. Just wanted to let you all know that.
