  1. So more then likely Shephard, and Stapleton rematch in the finals?
  2. Tyler Jackson is impressive, very fast, solid hitter and very good in the field. I love watching him play.
  3. I think all of the players from the other teams were at the Rowan vs. East game and the tone was set in that game. The foul ratio was 7 to 1 at the end of the 1st quarter and 20 to 7 at the end of 3 quarters in favor of Rowan. The tone being that Rowan was ranked in the state and the favorite to win the region and the defending champions of the region, so all the calls were going their way. So a team couldn't just play a good game and beat Rowan; they had to play an above outstanding game to beat Rowan. The rest of the region needs to learn from them and play a tougher schedule, get recognition in the state, and be the favorite to win the region next year in order to get some calls. I know that doesn't factor in and that they just call it the way they see it, but that's not how it seems. The complaints about the lopsided calls is not meant as a slight to Rowan or the 9th region refs. It's just not what we are used to in the 16th region. As the saying goes, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone." Rowan played hard and deserved to win. I congratulate them for being an outstanding team and I think they will represent the region well at state. Good Luck and make us proud! We will be rooting for you to win the state. Also, congratulations to Elliott for having an outstanding season!
  4. I'm confused. Since there was a three way tie, shouldn't all three teams be included in a draw? East won the head-to-head vs. West. West won the head-to-head vs. Morgan and Morgan and East tied in the head to head. Why does that automatically give 2nd to West? Are we using point differential to determine 2nd and not 3rd and 4th?
  5. Tournaments are set up so that the top 2 teams come out of pool play. If there is a tie, then points differential is used among all the teams games in pool play. Based upon that you would take the points differential of all the games including Elliott and usually there is a maximum differential to factor in like +-23 points. I've watched a ton of AAU and other tournaments and that is how it was always done. Also, I have a question on the showcase game. If the showcase had scheduled 3 or 4 games for each team in it, how many of the games would have counted towards the teams maximum games allowed? In a round robin, where no team advances to a championship game, does that count as a tournament?
  6. I don't see how you can have a tie-breaker using winning percentage and penalize a team for having a tougher schedule. The fair thing to do would be to take points differential of the games between the three. That's the way ties are almost always broken in tournament play. I've never heard of rewarding a team for playing more games or playing a weaker schedule.
