  1. No i am saying that Bush and Haddix were the 2 QBs voted on.Redman wouldn't have added Woodson if he didn't have to.Bush is going to get most and i mean most of the snaps in the game. You know ky is going to throw it everywhere with a lot of screens. You know that Bush can do it and with the offense that Haddix was in he can also.I don't think Woodson can pick that stuff up in a week.Woodson is a qb that will get much better with time because he has a lot to learn.Who knows he may be the best of all in a few years.
  2. Coach Larkey will be the head coach next year so is automatically on the staff. If a player signs with Ky he is ON the team automatically.I SERIOUSLY doubt taht Woodson.Wilson(Warren Central)or the player from John Hardin would have made it without the signing with UK.Bush will get the majority(overwhelming)of snaps in the game and what's left will probably go to Haddix.Wilson was only a part time starter at WC and is a project as well as the player from John Hardin.
  3. I'm not really sure what the conttroversy is but i believe it is over the charge from Uk.I know there were times when there were problems over practice areas.I know the 99 team had to practice at Georgetown.I am sure that only 10 players have been selected and that 30 will be added next weekend.
  4. 3 Wishes it doesn't work like that .I imagine that Reagen was voted in from his region.Bush i am sure made it in the Qb category. There are 10 players picked and the rest are added later. They will be picked next weekend.HS Football fan if moorehead is on the team he will be added next week.In the past any UK signees were on automatically but with the controversy over the playing site that may change.
  5. I said 4th in 01 not this year.Youwould have moved up a notch to 3rd this year if you could have beaten Hopkins Central.I again say that my opinions are based on observation not comparing scores.I assure you that i could go find 4 scores that would look like yours. It is not all about getting to the state championships but being able to compete once you are there. The AAA champions were decided in the semis the last 2 years.I believe they were decided much earlier in AA this year than the state ch. There are good teams that don't reach the state ch every year and if you started the playoffs over you would have some teams that wouldn't be there.
  6. When i talk about throwing in wky i am referring to the db's.You had better be able to throw it well or you will get picked.Hoptown had a great defense and a young qb. they didn't throw as much because they didn't want to create cheap field position. My point is because th Rock plays so many people tin the box Hoptown would have had to throw. The Rock dbs weren't fast enough hang with their rec's.I do know this ---Hoptown played Boyle Co the last 2 years and both games came down to the wire.Hoptown lost by 7pts and 6pts and both games were decided by turnovers.I observed both games between the Rock and Boyle and at no time were they in the game. They were mismatched from the beginning.I can only go on how other teams played us and how we played Boyle .Iwill state now that we had to play every playoff game to survive. The competition from our region is the best in AAA from top to bottom and we struggle to have state champions because we beat each other up so bad. Again i will state that i observed Brathitt up close and they did not have 4.3,4.4,4.5,4.5,4.5 speed. If that is the clock that they use up there then you couldn't imagine the times that would come out of here.If you know any college coaches ask them to get you the times from the combines each spring and compare the speed. About Willis i was kidding about the Turtle thing. Is he still a good baseball player? He was the best young baseball player here befor he moved.Actually i though he moved to Louisville.
  7. Bobcats evidently you are a high school player. There never has been a high school team from the mountains with that kind of speed. What were their times from the eastern combine last spring??there are very few hs teams with 5 players that fast and definately not a 4.3.I personally saw Breathitt versus Hoptown at last years Male passing tournament .They had 1 player that was very fast and they had GOOD team speed but NOT great team speed like some of the teams we played this year.I am not trying to disrespect Breathitts team just stating a opinion based on personal observation.Again their success is a product of the system Coach Holcomb uses. As far as hoptwon's success and i'll go back to 95 95 12-1 lost to bowling green by 14 pts AAA state champions 96 13-2 lost to Highlands 7pts in state ch 97 13-2 lost to Cov Cath 8pts in state ch 98 5-6 lost in first round 99 12-2 lost to St X by 1 pt semis AAAA state ch 00 10-4 lost o Male by 35 pts semis AAAA state ch 01 12-2 lost to Boyle Co 7 pts in semis AAA state ch 02 10-4 lost to Boyle Co 6 pts in semis AAA state ch Excluding 98 the reecord is 82-15. of the 15 losses 8 were to state champions of which 6 were decided by a td or less.2 were to state runner ups of which 1 was by a td or less.3 were to rgional finalist who lost to hoptown after winning in the regular season.1 loss was to a Tennessee team and 1 team didn't get in the playoffs. No hoptown doesn't have a state cahampionship in the last 10 years but it is evident that the road goes through here.I am happy that Breathitt has 3 AA championships but i still think theywould struggle against Hoptown year in and year out.
  8. I believe Hoptown did compete against Breathitt Co at the Male passing tournament. They defeated them without their starting qb and 2 transfers that could fly.Sorry but Hoptown had a speed advantage without the 2 transfers.Hoptown played a number of teams faster than Breathitt---Male,ChristainCo,Warren Central,Paducah------Mayfield,Boyle Co were as fast.I think Breathitt's success is more a product of their system than their speed.
  9. 3 Wishes I think Hoptown would have thrown more against the Rock if they would have played. After seeing their db's everybody should have!!!!!In WKy you had better be able to throw well or you are going to pay.It wouldn't have mattered because the Rock wouldn't have scored anyway.Hoptown held Bowling Green,WarrenCentral,Paducah, and Boyle Co to a total of 20 pts in the playoffs.I hate to bust your bubble but Tremayne Willis is from Hoptown!!!!!He is your fastest guy from the mountains isn't he?When he lived here they called him Turtle because he couldn't keep up with the other kids.
  10. As i have stated on other post I base my thoughts on observation. In 2001 Rockcastle would have been 4th in hoptown's district if they could have beaten Calloway Co.They would have gone out the first round of the region against Bowling Green. This year they would have been probably 3rd or 4th in the region behind Hoptown and Paducah.Warren Central,Allen Co and Hopkins Central were all capable of beating them.I have always been a fan of no ky football. What has happened that would allow a team like the Rock to come out of that end of the state? That being said here are my rankings These are based on competition from top to bottom in the areas. 1 Louisville area----Size of schools and open enrollment(ha,ha)have led to the haves and the have nots. 2 Northern Ky------Still alot of pride and tradition---emergence of Dixie Hts and Mason Co have taken the sting out. 3 West Ky-----Still the best place to find skilled kids---Think it has fallen off some in the last few years with the demise of Russellville,Ft Campbell, and a few more.I still can't get the thought out of mind of Tim Couch and the 61-0 thrashing he took. 4 Central Ky----Lexington is overrated and who besides Danville and Boyle? I thought the Jessamines had made some inroads until the playoffs. 5 Eastern Ky---- Good lineman and qbs-----But if the Rock is your best team well I'm sorry. I reality there is not as much difference in the areas as people think.Good teams are good teams.A lot of who plays in the state championships is about who you have to play to get there.
  11. Well 3 wishes since you want the west ---How about playing my 6 teams of Hoptown,Mayfield,Paducah,Henderson Co,and, and, and, and oh well that should be enough.By the way bring your track shoes cause you boys are in for a big speed disadvantage.
  12. If it was an inadvertant whistle I don't think their is an option. You have to play the down over.If that is the rule why was Beechwood given the option and not Murray?Hoptown had to replay the 5th down in 97 vs Cov Cath without given the choice on the inadvertant whitle.
  13. How can you say that the 95 tream was better than Hoptown? We camne to Mayfield and won on their home field. As for pure athletic ability that was probably the best Hoptown team ever. They went 12-1 that year and lost to Bowling Green in the regional Championship who later won AAA.As for this year's team they are not as good as the 95,or the 00 teams.(Mayfield)
