This is good to hear because admittedly I haven't tried them in quite awhile because of too many bad experiences. Maybe they got it together again, and got back on track. Looking at Yelp some echo what I've said, while others seem to like them a lot, sooooo....:idunno: Might have to give them another try.

Pompilios in Newport, but it still seems to live off of its historical hype, and that a scene in Rain Man starring Dustin Hoffman, and Tom Cruise was filmed there. It was good years ago, but apparently the grandmother who made it so has passed on, and with her went the quality. In the last 15 or so years I haven't ever had a good meal there. I don't even bother anymore, but they still seem to pack them in. The meals always seem to come...

While I don't allow myself to eat bread anymore for health reasons (have lost 45 pounds in one year achieving normal blood sugar levels by giving up grains including rice, pasta, and cereals), I have to agree with you here that a good sandwich begins with good bread. I've never been more certain of anything in my life considering the ups and downs I have experienced with my health. Losing weight typically was never easy for me, and as a...

I'm a devout Cure fanatic, and I completely dig the original, but Adele's cover of their "Lovesong" is the one that really made me stop and take notice of her early on in her career.

While this version of Tears for Fears "Mad World" by Gary Jules from the 2001 Donnie Darko soundtrack is incredibly depressing, it's hard to deny that it truly captured the feeling of the lyrics, so much that while I like the original alright it truly never effected me the way this one did.

I'm highly impressed with the amount of clever entries here, and as equally embarrassed, and disappointed in myself that I've yet to come up with a single one. :idunno:

To some purists it might sound like sacrilege to say this, but Neil Young really killed it in the feels with Hank Williams "Oh Lonesome Me" off of his 1970 "After The Gold Rush" release.

Sorry Whitney to keep nudging you aside, but for me Linda Ronstadt's version of the Dolly Parton penned "I Will Always Love You" is the magical and moving one.

Wish that this was on Youtube. Columbus, Oh Alt/Country singer Lydia Loveless took Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and brilliantly found its depth, meaning, and feeling. Unless you're in need of a sugar rush, don't even bother listening to Bieber's original. Hear Lydia Loveless Reinvent Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' : All Songs Considered : NPR

Really like how the mood matches the lyrics here which IMO gets lost is the original dance version. To be perfectly honest I never even paid much attention to the lyrics other than the hook until hearing this version. Sure, the original is notorious for who sang it, and probably many would feel like much is missing if they want to boogie along, but the depth that is reached here IMO outshines the otherwise shallow, heard is 500 times to...

This really doesn't answer the original question, but the thread itself has spawned some additional thoughts within my cranium. At the risk of boxing myself into a label, I'm in the "I don't know" category because "I don't know, and I don't know that I can know", yet I don't discount the possibility of some higher power, but even if there was I'm not exactly sure if I can ever know that there is. I'm not comfortable with the notion that...
