I get what you’re saying, but I think I read Johnson had 16 points at halftime. Considering the Tigers scored 25 points total, and they had closed within five at the half, that would seem to be plenty big. It’ll be interesting to see what round two looks like in nine days if both Johnson and Cager are around the whole time.

The scores were almost DRASTICALLY different, as literally everyone chose Glasgow and Warren Central, who won by a combined 2 points.

From what I read, Bowling Green jumped on Hoptown early, got out to a double digit lead, and then Tigers closed to five at the half. Jalen Johnson then missed the entire second half due to a knee injury. Johnson apparently indicated he was about 20 percent entering the game. Even so, I believe these two games tell both sides of the story. When you have to replace that many players, then you're going to take some head scratching losses. ...

I think it'll be either Clemson or Oklahoma taking down the championship. I really hope it's Oklahoma. I don't need the stress of two straight Clemson titles on top of FSU's troubles. Not to mention the fact they'll probably at bare minimum play for three straight titles. I would not count out Georgia either. Clemson is good. No denying it. But they're not unbeatable. Miami overachieved and it has badly shown in the last few games. ...

Like I said, to me it's which side of the coin do you land on. The 33 point loss is an albatross, and one that likely will keep it out. I don't get riled up about one point more in the loss column than what had previously been there. But my point is that you're focusing on the losses - that's fair. Ohio State has them DOMINATED on the win side of things. There are people who think that's pretty darn important. I'll be honest - I just...

You're probably correct, I just personally don't see it as black and white. I don't think it's crazy that they could put Ohio State in as a Big Ten champion with a better win than any on Alabama's schedule. What was it I read somewhere - Alabama's best win is their loss to Auburn. By the committee's current rankings, Ohio State would have not one, not two, but THREE wins superior to any by Alabama. Yeah, they'll have a far worse loss, two...

I feel it is much more likely for the Big Ten champ to go now, even if it isn't Wisconsin. But if it is Wisconsin, I think there's no doubt that Alabama is on the outs.

Even when that one loss came in convincing fashion against that team? I agree it’s not likely, just saying. It’s not a strong optic for Bama to go over the team that beat them, and that would have been over them if not for having to beat again a team they’d already knocked off.

Georgia looks in good position to beat Auburn. Does that help or hinder Alabama? Georgia would be in. Oklahoma will be in. The ACC champion will likely be in. If Ohio State were to knock off Wisconsin, would Alabama go over an Auburn team that beat them?

Franklin-Simpson's 39.6 per game average this year is the highest in the history of the program.
