That's likely spot on. That's why in that first game Bowling Green crushed them. They threw for 336 yards. Buchanan was 16/21 with 5 touchdowns. They only had 23 rushes, and some of those were sacks. Fast forward to November when Buchanan was 10/26 for only 89 yards, 1 TD, and 3 INTs. Script flipped completely. From what I remember hearing, it was less what South did in the secondary as it was pressure on the QB that caused those issues....

It was poor luck for Louisville to have that game be at Clemson in 2016. I also would say that if that game had been before Louisville destroyed FSU then it could have gone differently as well. Clemson was better prepared as a result, and they are always tough to beat in Death Valley. Louisville will always have my respect for 2016. And no one should have feared 2017 FSU once Francois went down. I don't think it would have played out the...

They struggled last year. The two years prior, they were 20-6. Aside from not knowing what to do with Lamar Jackson as he destroyed them, FSU lost two games by a combined 5 points in 2016. One of those was on a last second field goal, set up by a frankly questionable PI penalty. The other was by three to Clemson, who came from behind with just over two minutes remaining in the game. That'd be national champion Clemson. 2015 wasn't quite as...

It's a high caliber opponent who will prepare them well so long as they don't get any injuries. I would hazard a guess they would have much more loved this if it came the week before, giving them an open week before South Warren.

I both wanted England to win and France to lose. So you could say the finals matchup is not ideal. I hope Croatia throttles them.

Warren Central before Greenwood and South Warren. ‘Twas beautiful. 1989 was their best in school history and the last before Greenwood opened and began messing it all up. ;)

I was going to say early 1980s based on the presence of both Warren Central and Bowling Green in 4A State and near the bottom. And after looking at their records in the early 80s when they were in there, I see that Blockbuster and Hatz nailed it. It could only be 1982. Bowling Green was 2-9 that year, their only losing record in the entire time they were in 4A. That was a bad year for Bowling Green/Warren County. All three teams had losing...

Tom Chambers (NBA 1981-1997, 20,049 points) and Antawn Jamison (1999-2014, 20,042 points). I believe Jamison literally just became eligible. Both are just barely over 20,000 points.

BTW, to add to my point, if Carmelo matches even last season's diminished scoring (just a hair over 16 PPG) for two more years, he'll be in the top 10 in points all-time. If he can do it for three years (or even at a lower clip for that), then there's a strong likelihood that he'll only be looking up at Kareem, Malone, Kobe, Jordan, Wilt, Dirk, LeBron in points. You may not like him, you may consider him "just a scorer", but be real - the guy...

There are only two players who have scored 20,000+ who are eligible for the HOF and have not been inducted. And both of those were barely over. No one who has scored above 20,050 points in the NBA has not been inducted (30 players have, 12 are either active or not yet have reached the time period after retirement). Carmelo is over 25,000 and in the top 20 all-time. He's a lock.

At long last the Cinderella story is ended - Russia out on PKs 2-2 (4-3). The right side won but you have to applaud the Russian effort. Their first goal was a beautiful blast from the smallest of spaces at about 24 yards out. Their last goal was in the second extra time period off a header to equalize, at a point when you had to think they were completely doomed.

Belgium knocks off Brazil 2-1. I'm very happy at that result, and really at this point, if anyone but France wins I will be pleased. I don't really have an issue with France, but none of the other teams have won a title either ever or in a very, very long time. Neymar got absolutely no borderline calls from what I saw, with the official constantly waving at him to get up. I think the flopping cost him.

That goal was almost the exact same as the winner for the US over Algeria in 2010. But it was INCREDIBLE to watch. And now Belgium has played it into more.

Harmon can play with those guys, no doubt, but being the top in your class in and of itself does not mean he’s better than those older than him. Being second team as a freshman is special. They basically said only five guys in the entire state regardless of class were better in this season. I think that’s all there is to it. Or, if there’s more to it, it’s likely they went more with he has other years to be first team - most of the others don’t.

Another fantastic game this morning as France eliminates Argentina 4-3. Back and forth game that saw France go up 1-0 on a PK, Argentina score two straight spanning about 10 minutes of game time at the end of the first half and beginning of the second. France roared back with three goals in a row to take a 4-2 lead, which they held until stoppage time. Aguerro put in a header from Messi's service with 2 minutes left, but Argentina could not...

Germany is the fourth defending champion out of the last five World Cups to fail to advance out of the group stage. It is the first time EVER that Germany has failed to advance.

A lot of drama right now with about 10 minutes left plus stoppage time: -Sweden are dragging Mexico right now 3-0. Unless Germany scores multiple times or Mexico manages to stage an incredible comeback, Sweden is going to win the group, and put Mexico at risk. -Germany is still locked in a 0-0 tie. I'm not seeing nearly the desperation that Germany showed the other day against Sweden. It's as if they don't realize their plight. Right now...

Incredible finish in the Iran/Portugal and Spain/Morocco games. Portugal led 1-0 and Morocco led 2-1, which would have put Portugal on top of the group. Simultaneous VARs changed everything, as a Spain goal was restored after an overturned offsides call while Iran was given a penalty, which brought them level at 1 all. Suddenly Spain was back on top of the group. 45 seconds later, Iran had a golden opportunity in the 95th minute as one of...

Germany very nearly found themselves on the outs, but rescued their World Cup with a beautiful goal from the left wing at the death - in the last minute of stoppage time. Playing with 10 men for the last twenty minutes and with absolute abandon for the entire second half, it was incredible watching Germany go to work on Sweden, but they just could not grab that go ahead goal until the last minute. Had the game ended in a draw, I’d have had...

In theory, if Nigeria were to stomp Iceland by 4, then Argentina could control their own destiny. All they'd have to do is win, and have Iceland either draw or not win over Croatia by more than Argentina wins by. Any other scenario will require something more than Argentina doing just well enough. For instance, if Iceland and Nigeria tie (giving Iceland 2 points to Argentina's 1), Argentina could beat Nigeria by 15 and it wouldn't matter if...

It was ultimately a 3-0 stomping by Croatia. That puts Argentina in a deep, deep hole when it comes to goal differential. They'll be watching the Iceland/Nigeria result very closely tomorrow. I don't think there's any scenario now where they can advance without beating Nigeria.

Argentina is in real trouble now. Croatia is going to win this game and advance. Argentina will be at best in third place entering their final game. If things break the wrong way for them then there's a chance that even a win over Nigeria would not guarantee them advancement.

France/Peru was exciting at times thanks to Peru - but it was incredibly frustrating watching France bleed time for basically the last quarter of the game.
