For the time that is now, I think the rankings are pretty good. Maybe move Holy Cross up a bit, but thats about it. By seasons end, I'd expect Dixie to be up to the 5 or so spot. Thanks for the weekly update.

He did get moved up to varsity the other night (vs.Ryle). McArtor is hurt and it helped the numbers bringing him up (even though they are different type players). In varsity action,he probably played about 8 minutes in the Ryle game and less than that in the Highlands game. So, yes he is still playing JV along with getting some varsity minutes.

St.Henry won the JV game. I got there early 4th and they were up quite a bit. Non starters were playing and Highlands cut the lead to 3. I think it was #22 was throwing in some bombs for Highlands. St.Henry put starters back in and won by 8 or so. Bessler did play JV for St.Henry.

Congrats to the Bluebirds on the win. St.Henry needs to get their act together. They do not know what is a good or a bad shot, and who should be taking them. Their entrance passes for the most part to the inside are atrocious. They continue to get beat down the lane on defense. I could go on, but think I need the 24 hour rule.

When little, we would always get one from Gethsemani Farms (Trappist monks in Ky). They used to be the only type that I thought were any good. Haven't had one in years.

Ryle pretty much controlled this game. Was up by double digits for a large part of the game. Bessler for St.Henry gets his first varsity minutes and points and he looked good out there. @MentschTrachtGottLacht was right on about this one. I was pleasantly surprised. Vieth played well (and started) but had foul trouble. The 2 freshman will be pushing for a lot of minutes. Croyle carried the Crusaders in the second half. Ryle played hard and was...

I was out on a farm visit one time giving a steroid shot to a cow out in Lincoln county when I was first out of school. Older farmer said " give me one of those chromosome shots for my knee". I told him there was only one way for me to give him a chromosome shot and I wasn't that kind of guy. He did not get it. The joke or the shot.

I guess the reason for saying that I was impressed with Gallatin was, they competed from the tip and didn't back down. Walton is bigger and top ranked in the region (or near the top). They guarded hard, rebounded fairly well, were quicker than you would think and were never really out of the game until the 4 min mark or so of the 4th qtr. Gallatin will win a lot of games this year. Walton won by 20 but I wouldn't call it a beat down.

Both teams played hard and it was a single digit lead for WV until midway through the 4th qtr. Stanley carried WV early scoring their first 7 points. Hope Miles recovers, he looked to be in a lot of pain and it was his left shoulder (and he's a lefty). That might be a nagging injury. Hope for the best. I was impressed with Gallatin. Kids just know how to play ball. Knock down a few more shots and its might be a different ball game if they meet...

Ryle, Conner and Boone have beaten nobody to be ranked ahead of these others. St.Henry beat Conner head to head, and Holy Cross has beaten Boone. And I'd have Villa ahead of Dayton.

I know these things are always just for fun. So to add to the fun....Ryle, Conner and Boone are too high. Beechwood, St.Henry, Lloyd and Holy Cross are too low.

Rough start to the year for the Crusaders. Good thing NCC wasn't making their open shots in the first half or it could of been really ugly. At times it seemed St.Henry was playing 100 mph but going nowhere fast. Congrats to the Breds on the win.

With all the online shopping, especially through Amazon. Please think about making one extra click before going to Amazon to order. If you go to http://www.edcolinafoundation.org/ and scroll down a short bit on the right, you click on the Amazon link and a portion of all sales goes to his work. And it costs you nothing. Take a minute to read up on what he does. He walks the walk.

Love the Paul Bunyan axe. Remember a "keg of nails" (can't remember who it was between, same with a "little brown jug". I was really hoping that when UK and UL played the first time and UK won that they would of had it worked, out or a UK player would of taken Howard Schnellenberger's pipe. Schnellenberger had such a rich history with the state of Ky and both schools. They could play every year for the pipe instead of the lame "governors...
