You can put a Le Creuset cast iron in your dishwasher. Your dishwasher! Whoever heard of such preposterous stuff? Man I can't even deal with that.

I think everything as far as Satterfield’s staff remains unofficial at this point. I’d imagine we’ll see those announcements begin this week with the ones we already know. What that means as far who is taking point on recruiting who remains to be seen.

I haven't followed this terribly closely because everything about recruiting is gross and nothing could possibly surprise me, but my understanding was that Pete Nochta made the call because he was the one recruiting him under Petrino and wanted to make the call himself. Is that not the case?

Louisville currently has 15 players from the 2018 roster under contract for next season and just announced the signing of defender Taylor Peay, who spent this season primarily with Real Salt Lake of MLS but played a few games for their reserve side, Real Monarchs of USL. My guess would be that that means that all-league defender Paco Craig is headed out the door. I think Golden Boot winner Cameron Lancaster is probably also on his way to a...

Was there a kid in the late 80s and early 90s that didn't have a Nintendo at the top of his list? I'm pretty sure I got mine in 1989 or 1990. It was everything I hoped it could be.

It's really just always been frustrating to share a division with the Packers. While Minnesota has basically bumbled around, getting a couple years here and there from some random guy, Green Bay has had Favre and Rodgers and really them only for the last 25 years. I rarely watch them anymore as, like my father before me, I'm convinced that they'll never win a Super Bowl. It's just not in the cards. He spent his high school, college, and early...

It’s not an unreasonable analogy, but a lot of these relationships between coaches and recruits start when these kids are 15 and 16 years old. But while no one likes this, no one wants this to be fully contractual because no one with any sense would say that a high school kid ought to be completely bound by his early commitment either.

It stinks, but signing period never has been this early. Years past, a new staff would make all the moves they felt they needed to and a kid still had a couple months before anyone was putting pen to paper. I like the early signing period, but with coaching changes only just now happening, it really makes it tough on this area of the recruiting process.

I have a Lodge brand skillet and it's awesome. I've used one of the high-end, enamel-coated ones before but while they're super easy to clean and maintain, it's really not necessary unless you're going for style as well as function. And now I'm really hungry and that salami sandwich in the office fridge just isn't going to cut it.

Truth. Also outstanding for frying chicken... or anything really. I don't know how you pan-fry anything without a good cast iron. Pork chops, schnitzel... just fry anything in that bad guy.

Jeff Greer wrote about this stat this morning: points in the paint. First half: Louisville 14-10 Second Half: Indiana 22-6. Louisville hit some shots to stay in the game, but Indiana’s ability to force Louisville to settle for jump shots in the second half was the difference. It’s a pattern already that can’t continue if Louisville is going to improve: guards need to get in the lane and Enoch absolutely can’t disappear in big games.

I’ve been to Molly’s on a morning when Liverpool is playing. They’ve got a big group that comes out every single week. Other teams have local groups as well but none are like the Liverpool crew in Louisville. Led by a guy who’s actually from there and grew up standing on the kop at Anfield.

Really need to get a second TV. On at the same time as UofL/IU. Lady friend and I will be fighting over the channel. I think UC has the edge this year. Xavier has yet to really find itself and they've been less than impressive. Game at UC. Bearcats by 10.

I’m all in. Jackson hasn’t always made the best choices, but when he really throws himself into a project, it will at least look spectacular. Agreed, CWB, this is one to see in the theater for sure.

I agree. That’s two big hires now for Tyra that have at least done what they’re supposed to out of the gate. Now comes the fun part. Watching him put together his staff is going to be interesting as it might give us some clues as to how he wants things to operate going forward.

Satterfield is more successful than Kragthorpe ever was. Krags was 29-22 at Tulsa before coming to Louisville. He won C-USA in 2005 (the first season after UofL, UC, and USF left for the Big East) with a 9-4 record and a Liberty Bowl win, but went 8-5 in 2006, his final season there. Satterfield was 51-24 at App State and has won the Sun Belt three years in a row, going 10-3, 9-4, and 10-2 in those seasons. That overall record includes the...

All I want next year is progress. I could even settle for a two or three win season as long as we're starting to look competitive in some of these games we lost this year by 40-plus points.

So much of that is going to come down to his assistants. We don't know who he's going to hire or if some of his current staff will be retained as coaches at App State in some role. Having top recruiters as position coaches is absolutely essential at the ACC level, something Petrino failed at spectacularly.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Satterfield's first game is going to be against Notre Dame and we have no clue what the roster is going to look like. Should be an interesting few months. We don't know all the dates yet, but here are Louisville's 2019 opponents: Home Notre Dame Eastern Kentucky Boston College Clemson Syracuse Virginia

FCC seems like the obvious choice in that the MLS rules favor parity in a way that even the NFL rules don't. Atlanta has given the rest of MLS a roadmap for how to be successful very quickly if you have the right combination of ownership that will spend, community that buys in, and the right coach. I don't know that Koch is that guy, but we'll see what they can do.

I've done Rhinegeist before. Actually going to Madtree next weekend. I live down the road from a place called Streetside that was ok, I really liked 50 West when I went there and my favorite might be Woodburn Brewery in Walnut Hills just on quality of beer alone. I've gotta say, I'm really crushing this list, you guys. At this rate, I'll be a chili-chomping, goetta-frying, Mike-Brown-cursing Cincinnati resident in no time.

I am utterly dependent on the expertise of others here, but there's plenty to like about the guy. Seems well respected and the S&P+ numbers really like his teams. At this point, hitting a home run is a little different than under other circumstances. Louisville isn't just rebuilding its football program, but from top to bottom is rebuilding its reputation. If he can get the Cardinals to .500 and a couple bowl games over the next few years,...

Wayne Estopinal, CEO of TEG Architects and arguably the man chiefly responsible for bringing professional soccer to Louisville, died in a plane crash in Indiana today. Estopinal was part owner of USL's Orlando City SC and when Orlando City moved to MLS, Wayne knew a place that would be PERFECT for Orlando's vacated spot in the league. He and the other local business leaders who banded together to form Louisville City FC in 2015 created...
