We’ll find out. I had a lot of gripes with Sirmon’s handling of this year, but I’m NOT excited about Louisville having a third defensive coordinator in as many seasons.

Love Tim O’Brien. I think I own all of his books. That one isn’t going to light the world on fire like “The Things They Carried” but it was still really good.

The practical side of me says “Why on Earth would we do this? It’s an AAC team that is always good but that we’ll get no reward for beating and endless criticism for losing.” The football fan side of me says “That’s a great opponent that will give any UofL team valuable experience and I ALWAYS want to play former Big East and C-USA opponents.” This should be fun.

Interesting four-game set coming up to finish out January: Boston College at Miami Wake Forest at Virginia If the Cards can hold at home but drop the two road games, I’ll be pretty pleased where they’ll be at 6-3 in the ACC headed into February.

Spalding with a career-high 23 points to go with 12 rebounds. Snider with 22 and 7 assists. Not so much stat-wise, but it was one of the better games I’ve seen Mahmoud play. Solid effort all around. The return of Matt Farrell to the lineup nearly did the Cards in but a really nice job on him defensively over the last few minutes and OT.

Yeah I’m not holding my breath. Not even the title team managed a win in the Joyce Center. 0-6 in South Bend in the Big East/ACC.

Two solid games on ESPN last night. I’ve been a devoted follower of Big Monday for years and its return for 2018 was as good as advertised.

Good heavens. Duke out scored them 30-9 over the final stretch. Miami was rolling until the last five minutes and Duke came through like a tornado. Miami was jacking up a lot of unnecessary threes while their lead dwindled.

I honestly donít understand it, but if Club Leon is trying to get a bigger foothold in the states, this will help. I already watch about one Liga MX game a week and Iíll definitely watch his first game back.

Cardinals followed up one of their best defensive performances of the season at Florida State on Wednesday with one of their best offensive performances here. Louisville shot 53 percent from the field including 13/23 from beyond the arc. Turnover problems reared up again, though. After just 8 against FSU, cards turned it over 16 times last night. Victory extends Louisville’s winning streak over the Hokies to 13 consecutive games. Only...

The full schedule isn’t out yet and the rumor is that they’re still looking to possibly bring one more team in before this season starts. Some rumors it’s Miami FC of NASL. Super-rich owner who doesn’t really love MLS. Would be an interesting partnership.

First couple weeks of the schedule are essentially out as of yesterday. League released all the home openers. Louisville City opens at home against new squad Nashville SC on March 17. FC Cincinnati opens at Charleston that same day. First game in Nippert will feature a visit from Louisville and the first match of the 2018 Dirty River Derby on April 7. FCC also features as Indy XIís league home opener on March 31. First USL game in...

Was sure this was a loss during the net repair break. Although, was sure this was a loss when the Cards went down 17 in the first half and was absolutely certain this was a loss before tipoff tonight. Much needed all around. Louisville’s first road win over a ranked team since winning at SMU in 2014.

He’s certainly the greatest coach of the modern era. I’ll reserve conversations about guys like Walter Camp and John Heisman because it’s so hard to compare eras but they made remarkable innovations to the game that forever changed the way it was played.

Thatís disappointing. Watching several Monterrey matches late in 2017 specifically to watch him play. Solid young talent that we could have really used. Have to imagine this is a direct consequence of the Klinsmann/Arena failures in World Cup qualifying last year. Having no current coach to help persuade him back this way doesnít help either.

That is the TRUTH. I want to throw the remote through my TV every time they’re supposed to inbound the ball and their players all stand around staring at the ball and waiting for the ref to make them do something.

I’m so sick of Deng Adel’s hero ball I could vomit. This isn’t a tournament team right now and the ACC is probably too good a league this year for them to sneak in. Louisville’s Nth straight loss to a ranked team on the road. Get ready for N+1 on Wednesday.

Twitter awash in rumor tonight that Indy XI will join USL effective this season. Big move and a tough break for NASL solidarity moving forward. Exciting to have another team from the area join the league. Will definitely be at the Cincinnati and Nashville road games. Now planning to see Lou City in St. Louis and Indianapolis too.

Didnít know much at all about X until this thread. Thereís another Kiesler? Their parents must have gone half-broke feeding that family. Theyíre all giants. If heís half as good as the others, heíll be a handful no matter who theyíre playing.

I have my own opinions about what happened to Griffin and both he and the Redskins organization share some blame for the complete destruction of his body. He had no business playing in a lot of those games. But yeah, athleticism is a harsh mistress and when she leaves, she takes a great deal with her.

Looking forward to The Post. Starts in Louisville this week. Getting about Superhero’ed out at this point but cautiously optimistic about Black Panther. Three pretty darn good Marvel/DC movies last year so maybe trending back in the right direction. Cautious optimism is probably also the right phrase for Ready Player One and A Wrinkle In Time, two books I like that are getting the big screen treatment this year.

Trinity and Ballard played a couple classics out there in recent years. Trinity won 53-52 in the 2013 semifinals only to lose the final the next year in OT, 64-62. Two years after that, Ballard edged the Shamrocks 58-54 in the final. Those years with Quentin Snider, Kelan Martin, James Quick, Ray Spalding, and so many other really fun players were a special time. Looking back through those scores reminds me of how much I enjoyed players...

Well I donít want to get bogged down in Griffin because a lack of ability isnít what undid his career. The magnificence of that rookie season speaks for itself. Jacksonís completion percentage was up this season after having the highest receiver drop rate in all of Division 1 in 2016. He had things to work on and I feel like he did better at a lot of them. I donít know if heíll be a reliable starter in the league because thatís a REALLY...

Itís my favorite high school tournament. As said above, a TRUE city championship. I wish it was played a little closer to the rest of the city, but I whine about that every year. The decay of the Gardens really hurt us on that one. Great field this year and should be really fun. Great stuff Smallhoops.

Lamar’s been a QB since middle school. If we’re concerned about his limited ability to adapt to that position in the NFL, what makes people think he can run a route or catch a pass, things he’s literally never been asked to do?
