The thing that helps is that MLS is pretty terrible about looking to lower division coaches to bring in. They love retread coaches as much any other sport and also like splash hires of foreign coaches. The other thing we may have going for us is that O’Connor has absolute control over soccer decision making (except for the salary budget), something that is tougher to come by in MLS. Ultimately, while those are the things Louisville has...

Louisville was pretty outstanding tonight. Controlled the game almost from start to finish. Absolutely deserving of the win. Can’t say enough about what Cam Lancaster did before going out hurt in the first half. Rasmussen and Ownby were also serious bright spots. Great night for the defense as well. Just a ton of superlatives. 10 days of much needed rest for this depleted roster before coming back for the Open Cup match against New...

Round Two. Tonight at 7:30 at Nippert Stadium. Louisville won 1-0 at Nippert back in April. Cincinnati in first place in the East with 20 points. Louisville in second with 19 but a game in hand. Both teams coming off of midweek US Open Cup wins. FCC will be celebrating the unofficial news that they’re moving to MLS. Louisville will be looking to spoil the party.

Totally redone. They will be an MLS franchise, and MLS central control model means that instead of having it like the USL does, in which teams own all of their own players’ contracts, MLS will now be the actual owner of all rights to players that play in Cincinnati. Oh Cincy fans get ready for that fun moment when you think something cool is about to happen they they change the rules to favor a team in LA or New York over you. It’s the main...

Nashville got their bid months ago and they aren’t entering MLS until 2020. It will be at least then.

The O-Line was MUCH better last year than they had been the two years prior and there’s a good chance they’ll be further improved this year. I fully expect Louisville to do ok offensively but drop some games in the same manner as last year in which sometimes 35 points still wasn’t enough to get a win.

Bulk of the third round games will be played tonight. Ill be headed out to Lynn Stadium at UofL for the Louisville/Saint Louis match at 7:00. An interesting note: two third round games feature both teams from outside the USL, which means that at least two teams that operate either as amateur or semipro teams will move into the fourth round, presumably to play MLS opponents. Jacksonville Armada U-23 (NPSL) vs Miami United FC (NPSL) ...

The London thing was overblown and based on selective statistics from the first few months of this year. For 2017 as a whole, London’s homicide rate was 1.2 per 100,000 people while New York’s was 3.4 per the same number. And I still believe, as I did when those articles started appearing, that this says more about the precipitous drop in violent crime in NYC in recent years than it does a massive rise in crime in London. In 1990, NYC had...

I think 7-5 sounds right but I genuinely don't know what to expect. Didn't think the defense would be anywhere near as poor as it was last year and I have no real points to suggest Van Gorder is going to be able to turn that around in a matter of months. Last year we took one we shouldn't have from FSU but paid it back by letting Boston College run all over the field. Bama, FSU, and Clemson are sure fire losses. Hard to imagine there aren't...

Should have phrased that differently. I'm not shocked that USF wants them, I'm shocked UF and FSU agreed to them. Most of the big dogs have been angling away from major out of conference matchups that don't involve another marquee opponent at a neutral site in prime time.

Couldn't find an old thread on this from the schedule release, so with the announcement of the first three game times plus the ongoing release of SB Nation's 130-team football previews (recently finished the AAC and the independents, now slowly moving through the PAC12), I figured it was time to look ahead to the season. ** The athletic department certainly is ready, they called wanting the money for this year's season tickets practically...

Can’t speak for where you live, but in Kentucky, if the Cabinet for Health and Family Services wants to take kids from a home, the county has to have to have a Temporary Removal Hearing to determine if a child is at risk and then ultimately a full adjudication to determine if neglect or abuse actually occurred. Parents are given access to court-appointed free attorneys and a full discovery process of the county’s case. There is a boatload of...

Don’t have a league season game against them since they got shuffled out West this season.

Yeah that’s rough. A judgment is just a piece of paper until you take the effort to enforce it. Have you looked into an Non-wage garnishment? If you have any notion of where he might do his banking, you could file a non-wage garnishment and seize assets from his bank account(s). These are relatively inexpensive to serve on banking institutions so even if they come back with a notice that the debtor holds no funds there, you won’t have lost...
