Congratulations to Nicholas County, becoming the first team not named Bishop Brossart to win the 10th Region "A" Baseball Tournament since its inception back in 2004.

The games were played below the severe weather pattern in Paris at Bourbon County H.S.. We are happy to get them in. Had they not been played, it would have been our 10th consecutive cancellation, and nary a game played this season. I think our chances of playing at St. Mary vs Holmes on Wednesday are slim, with all of the rain encountered here in Alexandria over the past 24 hours.

Welcome to the site, and Thanks for the info. It hadn't been posted on Riherds as of midnight, and I was curious how we did. For your future information there is a format for posting scores.. Single game scores should be posted as "Bourbon County 1, Bishop Brossart 0" I'm sure a mod will make the adjustment, and good luck to him to show us all how to post double-header results. :) Looks like the Mustangs had to travel south to...

Guilty as charged. By the time I had realized my mistake the statute of BGP limitations for editing had run out. Cooper Theobald was a teammate of Bo Schuh at CovCath.

It's on me for throwing out the Bach reference. I'm sure upon further investigation there are other players from 10th or 8th Region schools who could have been spotlighted. Agree, Campbell, Kenton, Boone traditionally comprises "Northern Kentucky." Each of those listed are Campbell, Kenton, Boone.

Did anyone catch the TV stint early in the game with Sam LeCure (sp)? He is going to do some radio and I think, TV, this year??? I thought they were downsizing when they ousted Kelch, or maybe just downsizing the payroll. Isn't this the same guy who blasted the Reds for poor treatment last fall????

What a loss!!! Straight up guy, dedicated to the kids at Ludlow. Often ran into him at the races at Belterra! He was in his element there and really enjoyed life. One of the real good guys in our sport.

There is obviously a good reason Milwaukee released him.

Don't sleep on the Blue Jackets. Scrimmaged Lexington LaFayette to a single run earlier this season.

I like Gennett. I also like players who play with a little pizazz, and show a bit of spit (sub for a different word) and vinegar. I think Gennett fits all of those descriptions.

Agree wholeheartedly! Very, very few full rides. Many, many "package" scholarships - Academic, athletic, hardship. Sometimes paying the room and board negates the benefits of an out-of-town small school scholly. As shown, Club Sports, personal trainers, placement services are all big bucks industries, with the profit being racked up by the providers. Regardless of who you are and where you play, IF you are good enough, the colleges...

The Executive Inn had a soft "southern" elegance all under one roof.

I've enjoyed some good times in Owensboro. We (Brossart) came down for a Holiday tournament hosted by OboroCath back in 2000, stayed at the Executive Inn, played at the Sportscenter, and had an overall wonderful experience. Used to have some fine country music acts perform there as well. Have they ever re-built/replaced the Executive Inn???

Happy to see that these folks are really serious about this. These folks have their ducks in a row. It is well thought out. Curious as to where the financial backing is coming from, since there is no up-front title sponsor. Will make regular season scheduling a bit tougher, especially with the more compressed dates/games in our future. Good luck to the 2A Classic !

To be honest, I thought that Jake played a bit passively when he did get the minutes in the NIT. He passed up some shots he would normally take, and really didn't factor. What his future plans are, are up to him. I think that having his freshman year under his belt will benefit him, and look for him to be more assertive next year.

Bad decision by the WKU player on the second chage who elected to go rouge and take matters into his own hands and go one on one from 25 feet out. Other than a few times, I thought WKU played well within themselves. Johnson was a warrior and the Mr. Basketball freshman is going to fun to watch for the next few years. i also thought it was refreshing that here were a bunch of home-grown kids who actually played, or plan on playing in the...

^^ I have similar reactions when I used to go to Vegas. Runny nose, sore throat, clogged sinus - generally miserable. Simple fix - Simulcasting rescued me and I no longer go to Vegas.
