  1. Rockcastle owned the los on both sides of the ball in the HHS game last year, that IMO was the difference. Personally, I think highlands probably had more athletes but were outmanned so bad up front it didn't matter. I think had the game been on turf Highlands may have been able to make it interesting but we will never know. In all fairness I do think the mud had an effect on the margin but not necessarily the outcome.
  2. 1. Boyle (until beaten) 2. Highlands( I'm sensing the bluebirds are BACK) 3. P.T. 4. Mason 5. Cov Cath 6. Hoptown 7. Bell 8. Lex Cath 9. Bowling Green 10.Rockcastle
  3. This is true, because the best team in the state(3A) was playing in and won that game(both times). That does not mean Hopkinsville would have won state if they had won that game. The only way to know that would be to play the game. I haven't personally seen Hoptown play but from what I know they are primarily a running team, correct? Name the last team to have success running the ball on The Rock! I can understand how Bengal forms his opinion of the Rock if the only games he has seen them play is the Boyle games. Let's face it, they didn't exactly set the world on fire and their offense looked helpless at times. Rockcastle got to the carpet primarily through controling the los and running the ball down peoples throat. Those two things are VERY hard to do against Boyle. I suggest giving a little more credit to the Rebels instead of bashing the Rock. If Rockcastle was really that overrated there is no way they beat a team like Highlands 45-6(on any field conditions). Hopkinsville had the unenviable task of beating Boyle to REACH the carpet. It's common nature for fans to think they would have won the state if they had beat the eventual winner(in this case Boyle). But I could just as easily claim that Lex Cath was actually the best team in the state and would have beaten whoever if they hadn't stubbed their toe against Highlands. Rockcastle won the games they had to win to reach the carpet and I'm not sure they were the 2nd best team in 3A either but they EARNED the runner up trophy. Perhaps, Bengal, you should spend more time trying to figure out why Hopkinsville WASN'T there instead of why Rockcastle WAS there.
  4. Bengal, Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how WRONG it is. You obviously have issues with Rockcastle. Oh well, I guess you can always say "We played Boyle closer". Predicting outcomes of hypothetical games based on scores against common opponents might seem reasonable but can be very misleading. I think this illustration has already been used once but in case you missed it consider these scores from 2002: Danville 20 Boyle 10 Lex Cath 32 Danville 26 Highlands 31 Lex Cath 24 Rock 45 Highlands 6 By looking at this you would think Rockcastle should have killed Boyle . What happened? Matchups. Football is all about matchups. I have alot of respect for Hopkinsville because they were able to play Boyle as tough as they did. But are you saying you think Hopkinsville would have beaten Highlands by forty? Maybe Hoptown beats the Rock,MAYBE, we'll never know. But to think we couldn't finish higher than 4th in your district is hilarious. Enough of that. As for the East vs West all-stars. I'm a homer, give me the East. I wish we could find out. And as far as ranking the state, I think Password was right on as usual.
