Tough place to win. Muhlenberg County is a traditional basketball county with no sustained success or tradition in football. Because they are new and rural, they dont have a traditional rival or no one within 30 minutes inside their district.

I don't care what he charges because prep schools cannot play KHSAA schools. However, if we were going by the old Oak Hill Academy rules where a prep school could play KHSAA schools and they told me that I had to pay $3,500 to film Aspire playing the school I cover 30-35 times a year, then we have a major problem. Grind Session said their logo had to be included in any media filming at their McCracken County event earlier in the month, which...

Something to keep in mind, there are eight fewer schools playing football in 2018 than in 2006 because of consolidation. 222 schools divided by four classes is 55.5 schools, which is still 6-7 teams per district. You may have some with five or some with 8. But there wouldn't be three or four team districts. Five classes would mean around 44 teams per class and 4-5 teams per district. There would still be the chance of 0-10 and 1-9 teams...

You know what would reduce a lot of travel and keep some of the 0-10 and 1-9 teams out of the playoffs? Reverting back to four classes. When you continually tweak the format, you are just admitting that the current way isn't working. How many tweaks were made from 1984-2006? One. Four teams from a district make the playoffs. That is all. Since the switch to six classes, we have seen cross-bracketing, to intra-district, to...

The system is flawed when a person who runs a football website pays for an AP subscription and is given a vote to ensure his son, who was not voted to his all-conference team by the coaches, is nominated and voted first team All-State.

I'd like to see a failed conversion attempt be able to run back for two points like college.

That's like saying a married officer should better know how to handle a domestic violence call. Not always the case

I think the video streaming of games and the elimination of the paper program have as much to do with it as anything. Basketball games used to be experiences. Coaches were welcomed and used it as a networking experience. Assistant coaches came as a perk of of a low-paying job. Now, schools are relunctant to let coaching staffs off to attend the Sweet 16. There is no program with rosters and history you can hold in your hand. T-shirts are...

It's just a case where schools have failed to adapt to the changing times. I get it. 30-40 years ago, middle schoolers rarely played varsity sports and if they did, it wasn't enough to letter. Times have changed. Some schools have changed their policy and some haven't.

Kentucky and Murray State have never played in basketball The only way (in the foreseeable future) this happens is in the NCAA Tournament. This could happen this year Kentucky is playing themselves into a six seed Murray State could be as high as an 11 seed based on their resume.

Until the KHSAA has a commissioner from outside the triangle, there will be no classing. Soccer and volleyball are the two sports that scream the loudest for classing. One small school has won a soccer state title and that was 44 years ago. Only two have advanced to the title game. I know of two schools in western Kentucky that will not play volleyball becuase the region is top-loaded with large schools. I understand that basketball...

I think this is the year it finally happens in the NCAA Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. in the first round. Barring a late season collapse, I think the OVC is a two-bid league as long as it stays Murray and Belmont

Police should not have to answer calls involving animals unless they are vicious and in the act of attacking or preparing to attack. Police are not trained for these type of calls and shouldn't have to answer them. Common sense shuld have prevailed on the part of the officer, but still....
