  1. I don't see any big issues with it. But it does seem odd to me.
  2. Enjoyed the episode with Mike Archer. Can't wait for the May episode with Chris Mason. I heard Chris Mason has to pay his barber by the square foot !
  3. I gotta be honest, I don't know Coach Rogers at all. Heard a lot of good things about him though. Pretty sure there was an issue with one team having two games scheduled for the same date. Honest date mix up. Forcing Lincoln to go looking late. But, Lincoln was only down 2 scores at halftime. I don't ever really think they were going to make it a game late, but they competed and were able to move the ball at times against a good football team. My point is that I believe the Scott Co. game helped Lincoln. As opposed to what the Danville game will do for them this coming season. I do understand a new coach needing W's though. I really do. New coach, home town guy, great player at the same school. I just wonder what the reaction would have been if Coach Jaggers had paid 3 grand to buy out a contract before he had coached his first game because the team would be to tough for them. They'd have called him a coward, or soft or questioned how he expected to get better just playing easy teams. I hope Coach Rogers makes a good run at Lincoln. I really do. Just seems to me the biggest problem with Coach Jaggers was that he wasn't Coach Rogers.
  4. 5-6 last year. When you say "just fine" is that a reference to this coming years schedule or just the program as a whole going forward?
  5. Danville doesn't bring any fans. Not anymore.
  6. The Russell County game was a tight one last year and Steven French takes over the HC job there this season. I don't think it's a gimme, but I would still favor the Pats. I think the Somerset game would be tough for them to win. But if they are undefeated going into that game, who knows.
  7. I would think they would be happy with 7-5. Should beat Bourbon, Russell Co., Danville, Bullitt Central, Wayne. Think Garrard is a toss up. Then maybe Taylor. I think 7 wins would be a pretty good season this year.
  8. I should also say this and it's just my opinion from observations and conversations. There have been times over the years that I think the County has been anywhere from lukewarm to very interested. But I'm not sure there has ever been a time that the City has been very interested at all. A couple of time the DISD has gotten in pretty bad shape financially and some preliminary discussions took place I believe. But that hasn't been the case in a long time and right now I don't believe either side has any interest in a merger whatsoever! So we will probably just keep hearing rumors about it happening for the next 30-40 years.
  9. I think they very well could just keep the names the same. I would expect a redistricting of some sort. But pretty sure the board of ed could divide however they thought would best fit current and future facilities.
  10. Even if they did, I think they would now keep it a two-school district. For most of my life there have been speculation that it was only a matter of time and that it would become one large high school. But now I'm pretty sure the schools would still stay separate under one administration umbrella instead of combining into just one high school.
  11. Cal is still going to be the coach next year.......unfortunately !!!
  12. No, he was the OC for most of his time at Russell Co. Moved to DC with the most recent HC, Lucas Ford. I assume Coach Ford was an offensive coach and wanted Coach French to stay on staff so Coach French moved to DC. As with most high school football coaches I think they all can, and usually need to, coach both sides of the ball. But Steven is an offensive guy. He will run the offense for Russell County. Don't know the staff well enough to know who his DC will be.
  13. I came back to this thread to see who Trinity plays on Sept. 6 and while reading I noticed this post. There are only 2 public high schools in Boyle County. Good luck to Trinity this coming season.
