  1. Talking to people in the area Graves County might be returning the most of any team in far West KY. I believe it is something like 10 starters on offense and 6 on defense. The players who will be replacing the outgoing players have started multiple games due to some injuries or other reasons last season. They also have a very good group of skill players in the freshman class who will se significant playing time this season.
  2. Why would they schedule a Louisville power when they are struggling to beat teams that are much smaller in enrollment in Western KY?
  3. You are exactly correct about the KHSAA only caring about the Louisville and Lexington schools. They have said for years that geography is the only thing they consider for district alignments. If they don't use this model for the new districts then that is a lie. Our players/coaches in Western, Central, and Eastern Kentucky are at a higher safety risk driving home late at night after these games and are spending thousands of dollars in transportation and food for their players. I just think it is outrageous that a fan was able to sit down and create districts that make sense and people that this is suppose to be there job can't do or just refuse to do because like previously stated they only care about 2 areas in the state.
  4. I would just like for this to be presented to the KHSAA just to hear what they have to say about it. They have openly said that the names of the teams have no weight in how districts are formed just the geography. Well they either can't read a map or they have been lying and trying to cater to certain regions for years. I think we all know what the truth is. Bottom line is there are rural districts in Western KY and Eastern KY that are having to pay for their travel and food out of the fundraising they do instead of being able to spend it on the kids for equipment and uniforms. Kids are having to drive home at 12:00 at night in communities that the drive home on backroads are 30-45 minute drives. This plan not only saves a majority of the 5A class a lot of money but more importantly helps keep players, coaches, and families safe from extremely long road trips. So in my opinion the ball is in KHSAA court here.
  5. After reading this and really breaking it down I don't know if you can come up with a logical argument against it. Something like this takes all human bias out of the equation and does it off of true travel distance which is what the KHSAA says they do when they make these decisions. This AI should be used to create all of the reclassifications in my opinion.
  6. They do it in 5A. District 1 and 2 have 6 teams in them and then several others have 4.
  7. I get that this guy can coach and has built some programs to be extremely successful but it seems like there are some issues that he has. Hopefully he has learned from them because I believe in 2nd chances but he seems to be on his 4th or 5th at this point. Good luck to him going forward.
  8. I don't believe 4A is much more loaded top to bottom than 5A. Now I would say that the 5A East is not as loaded as 5A West. Now Boyle and Corbin last season might have been #1 and top 5 in the entire state overall so this post is absolutely no knock on those 2 schools. But 5A is an extremely good class of football top to bottom.
  9. Only reason I could think of for Coach Smith to take this job would be because South Warren will be moving to 6A next alignment. 5A East is a much easier road to Lexington than 5A West. If Pulaski can make this hire happen good for them.
  10. I've noticed in a some of the media reports that it says that Coach DeBernardi has been an assistant at Graves for 12 years but I believe he has spent some time as an assistant coach at other schools like Paducah Tilghman and McCracken. At least he has experience at some different schools other than just Graves County. Might know how to some things differently to change things up a little.
  11. Been very quite I have heard of a few local names who have put in including somebody currently on staff. I am not going to list the names I have been hearing but hopefully they get the process completed soon. It would be nice for a new coach to be able to hit the ground running when returning from Christmas Break.
  12. The job has been posted to the district website.
  13. Winning your district is nice but if you can get 2nd place, host a playoff game, and you can beat the teams in the district you are matched up with then the 1st place finish is just icing on the cake. If you are consistently playing in the 3rd round of playoffs your program is a great job.
  14. Where are the major holes you see that none of the other teams are finding?
  15. That is the reason why I am not for top 2 seeds getting in playoffs. I think either dropping to 5 classes or do top 3 seeds and 1 seed gets a bye. I also don't understand why 6A gets to rotate districts for playoffs and the rest of the state doesn't. District 1 and 2 for 5A this season could honestly make up half of the top 10 cause I believe Graves is a fringe top 10 team if not a top 10 team in 5A this year.
