You're right, it certainly happens a lot with coaching changes, but I do feel for the Randolph kid who was slated to enroll and be living on campus a month from now. I wish him the best of luck in finding a new home, I'm sure there will be a slew of programs lining up for his service. Satterfield having someone else call to deliver the news seems small to me. I'm sure UL and Satterfield will be fine, and I'm sure there are a handful of...

I'm not in charge of distributing Heisman ballots, but I'd agree with the sentiment of your post. Side-note: I was pleased to see Will Grier finish 4th, every time I watched him play I was more and more impressed. That over-the-shoulder throw to beat Texas was as good a throw as anyone made all year.

I'm not sure that the 870 Media members with ballots are homers, or affiliated with a school in any way, but they certainly would fall prey to geographical biases. That is why they are broken into 6 regions of the country (145 from each area), along with the 58 living winners who get a vote. Murray won 5 of the 6 regions, with Tagovailoa winning the Southeast (not surprisingly), although it was closer than I'd have thought. I also thought it...

You and Dognation2 may well be onto something, but the irony is, since 2000, Oklahoma now has 4 Heisman winners, and Alabama only has 2 (and one of those with the 2nd lowest percentage of possible points during that span).

I thought so, but there were a lot of "Tua and it won't be close" posters over the last 7 days in the other thread. Tua lost the Heisman last Saturday night vs Georgia, fairly or not, that is how it went down.

This will be a good barometer for Beechwood vs CovCath as the Colonels handled the Knights pretty well.

IHM 8th beat Camp Ernst as well -- I believe that is IHM's first win over a public school in that group ever (I think they went 0-for 6th and 7th grade against their public counterparts). They struggle in the Catholic School League as well, so I'm thrilled for those boys to pick up a win last night! A couple of their kids will be solid contributors at St. Henry for the next 4 years.

St. Henry lacks size, so Sisson will be a real problem for Coach Faust and his Crusaders. Vieth and Bessler are very nice, Westerbeck plays hard, is the emotional leader, and will make shots if left open. #14 and #24 both play very hard, and will get some points around the bucket if not boxed out -- tough-nosed players. Highlands by 10-12 tonight in Fort Thomas.

Heard a conversation last night on one of the Sports' shows about Shaka Smart's failed tenure in Austin and wondered what BGP was saying about it years ago. Some folks were spot-on, some were fooled by Shaka (and there is no shame in that). They will fall short of 20 wins again this year...amazing.

Oh well, only money. OU down 5 with 5 minutes left and Xavier goes on about a 15-0 run to pull away. Game was way closer than the score, but OU went bone dry down the stretch.

If I'm an offensive player, and I watch / review the last few years of Scott Frost's offenses, and then do the same with Mark Stoops' offenses, this would have been one of the all-time no-brainers.

By the way, if OU played your beloved Norse on a neutral court the spread would be about 4 points (when using a formula that takes in KenPom and Sagarin data). Brannen's boys are definitely NOT really bad this year, on that we can both agree.

They're not actually, they are very young, but they have some solid young players and are decent. However, my call for tonight is more about a so-so Xavier team, who have a bug going through the locker-room that has knocked Goodin out the last few days, other guys are dragging, and, they have a much bigger date looming on the horizon. Tonight screams of a game where they sleep-walk at times (which they've done a lot this year), the building...

If you're into the art of money swapping on college athletics, tonight's tilt at the Cintas Center is a tasty one to focus on. The line is Xavier -11.5 -- take Ohio University and enjoy your evening. I still think Xavier ultimately wins the game, probably, but it will be by 7 or fewer points -- not the 11.5 you'll be getting from the oddsmakers.

I do that EVERY time at Speedway, and if they only have one 52 ounce cup left, I will go with the next largest size (44 I think ).

I doubt Brian is surprised. I firmly believe the next 3-5 for the Royals will be very, very good. This year, not so much. He will instill the culture and style of play he wants, results (this year) be damned.
