I agree on losing a step, and wouldn't want to give up on Ross either, but he hasn't exactly been playing with the best of QB's recently either. Of course you could make the same argument that Peyton Manning skewed his early results. I just think back to the last couple of seasons when everyone thought Anquan Bolden was done, and he was a solid contributor and looked like a slug at times.

That makes a lot more sense. I was looking at 2018 alone. That would rank Realmuto much higher. Barnhart has admittedly done some improving, which would skew his 2018 stats compared to overall as well. I was using the same site, just different settings. Major League Leaderboards >> 218 >> Catchers >> Dashboard | FanGraphs Baseball

Based on WAR Barnhart ranked #6 among catchers in 2018. Realmuto was #1. No dog in the fight here, but thought that info was worth sharing. Realmuto's WAR of 4.8 over Barnhart's 1.1 says more about them than the ranking I believe, but to have Barnhart ranked 15-16th best is crazy. He is better than that.

It's so nice to have a completely different feel around the Reds at this point in the year. There is definitely an excitement. To see quotes like Lorenzen's about the thought process being a lot more about the team than it was before, and then to see Kemp talk about how good this lineup can be is a lot more fun than the past couple years.

On the day he is found guilty of reckless driving for driving over 100mph, Antonio Brown has officially requested a trade from the Steelers. That's quite a day!

The Texans cut Demaryius Thomas who was dominate for a while with the Broncos and traded to Houston last year. He should come cheap since he's coming off injury. Is this someone the Bengals should kick the tires on just to see what tread is left? A third reliable option besides Green and Boyd?

It's sad to see any school district close. So much history, etc, and these small independent districts mean so much to the small towns.

I don't disagree from the winning standpoint. Would be a huge get, especially for the price. I would struggle mightily in those situations if I were a sports franchise big wig. Do you stand on high morals or always look for the upgrade? If you're somewhere in between, where is the line drawn? From a winning standpoint it would have made total sense. True.

They already have Mixon. We don't need that much domestic violence in one backfield.

LINK This weekend starts the AAF football league. 2 games will be aired on CBS this weekend? Who's watching? I will tune in just because it's football. It was be interesting to see what the talent level looks like and how the league looks without kickoffs, extra points, etc. My gut reaction was that this would be like the XFL starting out strong then fading, but it's been promoted so much less than the XFL. The lack of promotion may...

Right, I also have no issue with taking the easy path to a championship. He did what he wanted without breaking rules, etc, but he comes across as a total punk sometimes. I think it was the burner accounts that did me in though. Showed who he really was and how thin skinned he is. That or he talks extensively in the 3rd person, and that doesn't make him any better. lol

Looks like the Reds are out on the Realmuto deal. Was exciting to listen to and think about, but not the worst thing in the world to lose out to the Phillies on that. Barnhart is more than capable and you keep your prospects.

LINK Link provided above. What are your thoughts on this? I was actually (sort of) siding with KD until it goes petty and personal and he singles the reporter out. Comical for me to hear a grown man who had fake accounts, etc, to inflate his own ego go after another grown man with the "grow up" statement.

I don't think Kemp would be overly happy either, but has to be a clubhouse upgrade from Homer Bailey.

It's been rumored that they are going to wait a bit to have a much clearer idea on teaching allocations, which should be coming soon. I believe that most districts use enrollment numbers from the start of the new year to determine allocations. Back to the topic at hand though, that's an extremely solid schedule from the Eagles. Opening up with Highlands while they're back on the "upswing" is pretty solid.

I guess if teams aren't guranteed the division crown, or even more so, a World Series appearance they should strive for 0-162 and never get better.

I saw a tweet yesterday stating that Super Bowl commercials will be good again when we stop being offended by everything. There may be some truth to it. There were some good ones, but there used to be entire commercial breaks that were funny/neat. For the record, my favorite commercial (can't remember who it was for) was the one with children with disabilities being able to participate in gaming due to an adapted controller.

Yes, but that has only been the format since 2012. There should be less representatives in 6 years than in the format that lasted 17 years. Also, I understand your point on the change in format. It puts a wildcard team in the hole to have already used their ace going into a game against a division winner who is throwing their ace, but you can't knock a team for competing. Tanking is a lot of what's wrong with many sports. There are a lot of...

While I don't disagree with you on where they finish, and wish they were set up via trades for more than the next year, I have to point out that baseball is the ultimate "hot streak" sport. The 1997 Marlins, 2002 Angels, 2003 Marlins, 2004 Red Sox, and 2011 Cardinals all have one thing in common. They didn't win their division, but were hot when it mattered. These are only the teams that eventually won it all after being a wild card. The...

Also possible that the Reds didn't see Miley worth 4.5 million, and if that was the case, I take their work for it. Seems like they have a pitching coach that would have a pretty good feel for where the guy may be headed. For the first time in a long time I'm actually a little confident in the Reds trying to compete rather than simply being cheapskates.

Actually, this article and searching some of my favorite restaurants put me in a similar mindset. I didn't consider how many restaurants would have multiple violations, and then didn't consider how many probably happen in my own kitchen (the minor ones of course).

LINK The WCPO article above discusses 25 local restaurants who were closed by the health department at some point during 2018. It also has a search engine where you can plug in your areas zip code and see any violations the restaurants around you may have had. Really makes you think twice about eating out when you see some of the violations!
