  1. I love this post. Guilty as charged. I cannot wait for this epic battle as it is one of the best early season matches of the years. Our friendly rivalry with the Bluebirds is once again upon us. Trinity’s weapons are up front. Simon Fuell number #9 is as talented as a winger in the state. Jeremy Mason, 10, is the other right winger, Jeremy is highly skilled and cat like quick with plenty of speed. Both wings have a ton of speed and are two players that can make any ESPN highlight reel. Jack Fischer is our four year starter that Is as talented as any player in the state. Trinity is replacing an All American up top. We will get plenty of chances to score and if we start finding the net we will be extremely dangerous. The defense is excellent with an all state and three year starter Nolin Durbin as our left back that can score and assist out of the backfield. Collin Schaffner provides a steadying presence and nerves of steel as an outstanding CDM. There are plenty of talented defensive players that do an amazing job. We haven’t seen a talented attacking team like the Bluebirds. I expect the first ten minutes the Rocks may be on their heels before settling into a great game. We are not nearly as big as we were last year, but we are quick, fast and outstanding soccer players. Look for great outside play, both offensively and defensively on the Trinity side. I expect our talented strikers to come of age today. Good luck and safe travels
  2. I’m expecting to take a loss tomorrow against you all. I am not sure we have had the chance to work out positions and figure out weaknesses and strengths. We have one official game and that was against a weaker team. This games never expose your weaknesses and can sometimes mask areas on the field where you need to improve. There is plenty of talent on this Trinity team. But haven’t had a chance to figure it out yet. Should be a beautiful evening to watch the boys compete.
  3. We all talk about that. We may be at Drakes or El Tarascos which is across the street. I’ll look for you.
  4. They have both Trinity and St. X in the top 50 also. I’m not sure either team is worthy of that ranking yet. All are good teams with great talent, just not extremely deep as last year.
  5. They beat a good Oldham County team 4 to 3. But it wasn’t a dominant performance. They are very good though.
  6. The brilliance of the Jefferson County Public Schools cancelled all activities due to heat. It was 75 at game time. The state seems pretty wide open. There doesn’t seem to be an overwhelming favorite team this season.
  7. Trinity will only have played one game prior to this Saturdays matchup. Not sure what to expect.
  8. I expect a great game on Saturday. Trinity lost a ton of talent. But they still have a lot of seasoned and talented players. If they can find the net they will be extremely dangerous. The Highlands Trinity game is one of the best matchups of the year.
  9. Does Trinity deserve it’s top five rankings in the major high school soccer polls.
  10. This game did not disappoint. St. X came out early and really pressured Trinity midfield and defense and controlled the first 25 minutes of the first half. Trinity settled in and took control for much of the second half. St. X had a couple really good shots on goal and Trinity’s goalie made one amazing save. Trinity’s defense was able to shut down St. Xs vaulted attack for most of the game. Senior Nate Barry finished off a nice set piece to put the Rocks ahead to stay 1 to 0. Trinity really was able to get in deep with some great interior attack. Junior Jack Fischer controlled much of the tempo of the game and junior Jeremy Mason exploited the right wing with his speed. Mason almost had an assist with a deep cross to McManus that was inches away from being another score. Great fall evening and amazing soccer. Well done.
  11. Both teams have experienced seniors. Both teams have an All American. Case Cox typically hangs out on the left wing. He is about six two. Extremely fast with amazing ability to get through two or three defenders and find the net. McManus for Trinity is the all American striker. Has deceptive speed but that’s not where he beats a defense. Plays with his back facing the goal better than any player I’ve seen. He is deadly with a shot or with an assist. Extremely intelligent soccer player and is always trying to solve the challenges on the field. Both players play with intensity and effort. St. X also has a great striker and right winger. Their offense is extremely deadly. Trinity has four wing players all that have speed and tremendous ability. Both teams have a talented midfield. I think Trinity’s defense has two big talented center backs that I have not seen in other teams. Drew Pierce could play CDM or right wing and cause any team problems with his offense. But now he is a lock down defender. Both goalies are experienced. I think Trinity’s goalie is extremely athletic but the X goalie has been great all season. It’s 50 - 50 on who wins. Both teams will be flying around the ball.
  12. Because that’s what fans do on sport posts. Not sure why you would come on a thread that asks to predict if not interested in dialogue.
