  1. I look forward to watching Southwestern play Madison Central 8-31 at Madison Southern in the Doc Sipple Bowl.
  2. Sayre school is in Lexington. A small private school. I am assuming they will be a 1A school in football next year. Chad Pennington is the head coach. Google that name.
  3. I use to know where to find the bracketing on KHSAA but I have failed at finding it. Do you know how the districts and regions align for playoffs this year ?
  4. I'm a Louisville fan.... You can't believe anything you see on CATS PAUSE..........
  5. I have heard Central has 34 seniors on the field this summer. They definitely are the favorite to win the district but watch out for GRC Clark Co. Its going to be a fun year to watch as a spectator and some coaches may get more gray as the season goes on. The real question is they go in to the playoffs as a 1 or 2 seed and then what happens? How long before they see Scott Co., Fredrick Douglass, or one of the dreaded heavyweights out of Louisville? I am not sure how the playoff structure is this year. Ill get on KHSAA and dig around. Regardless they need 2-3 consecutive playoff wins really bad for this program.
  6. Casteel is a beast in the secondary his interception numbers from last season reflect that. I think the sophomore Tobias Storm will be the starting QB for Southern this year. TJ is very strong and you will see him coming out of the back field some too this year. He is a hard nosed brute. However the offensive side of the ball will be a new animal for him this year so it will be exciting to see how he excels. You will most likely see him playing D-End in college.
  7. KHSAA needs to look at forming 8 or 7 man football for these smaller schools.
  8. We lost the back bone of our team last year at Southern. We had a solid group of seniors that had been playing together since 3rd and 4th grade. Several of the seniors were four year starters as well. We have several new additions to the team I am hearing. And I look for our line on both sides of the ball to remain dominant. Hopefully some of the new additions will fill in some of the gaps left by the senior skill players we lost last year. I will catch a scrimmage next week and try to update. 5A is tough but this team has a top notch coaching staff that will find a way to win playoff games. Should be a great season.
