The DA-Premier (the level at which players can still play high school) has 2 teams playing in the US Youth Soccer National Championship this week. The 2004's (freshman to be) made it to the Semifinals and play this weekend in the final 4. Here are the NKY girls (that I know of) on that team and their high schools. Ellie Drees - ? Molly McNeil - Calvary Christian Mya Gerak - Dixie (but playing DA next year) Morgan Gerak - Dixie (but...

Notre Dame will have a strong freshman class, led by 2 girls that declined DA spots. I see them as the team to beat. I'd peg Highlands as the #2, but really not much separation between them and NDA Dixie's goalie is out, which is a big loss. They added a freshman who played DA last year and declined for this year, but lost 2 freshman who took DA spots this time around. They tied Daviess County Panthers last night in a scrimmage. ...

I am not trying to categorize or paint with a broad brush, but aren't the 3 most dominant positions: 1) Atheist - I know there is no God 2) Deist - I know there is a God 3) Agnostic - I don't know if there is a God Less than 5% of people are atheist, so doesn't that mean that most people were agnostic at some point in their life? I view agnostics as people trying to sort things out and figure out what is going on around them. Often...

I would walk it through this way: 1) Does the Bible allow for the taking of life as punishment for certain crimes? I believe the answer is yes, and this includes being under NT grace and not just reserved for OT Mosaic law. 2) Does the Bible allow for man to define laws that have authority over the people? I believe yes. The Bible paints a picture of structure and order. This includes a hierarchy within the human race. Yes, we are all...

This is where I get hung up on it. Innocent people have been killed - 100%. I don't know if that includes through the modern American court system or not, but throughout time, governments have taken life when it was not warranted. Is that OK? It seems like it can't be OK. So, then are we saying... The death penalty is allowed as long as it went through the American court system? Seems arrogant on our part to think so highly of...

I agree with what you are saying, except I see a different outcome. You are right about the conflict it creates. You are assuming the kids will chose to play high school soccer and skip all of the local exposure opportunities. I think it is the opposite. The better players are going to quit high school soccer for the sake of being available to play in the Spring Showcases. I don't even see it being that close of a decision. To play...

Then there is the example of the Hebrew slaves. Moses led a full revolt and overthrow of the Egyptians. It seems not as clear when local government's are to be given authority when viewing it threw that example.

When considering whether earthly government's hold any authority, I'd add Jesus's example of, giving to Ceaser what belongs to Ceaser and give to God what belongs to God. The Roman empire was a pagan nation spreading terror throughout the ancient world, yet Jesus recognized their earthly authority. Even His trial and crucifixion were examples of subjugating to the local authority.

if schools and AD's are pursuing it, it is not because it is in the best interest of girls soccer, but rather in the best interest of the other fall sports that compete for resources.
