You would have to go back a long time to find this type of players in back to back classes. These Juniors and Seniors are as good as any in a long time. The issues you mentioned are all true, but this team is different. The discipline Coach Duncan brought to this team, I have never witnessed here. The word "Miracle" has been tossed around in Paducah in reference to the change in attitudes and demeanor of these players. We'll have to wait...

The ceiling for this Tilghman team is very high. This is one of those rare teams where the season before basically has no bearing whatsoever on this year. This team is loaded with talent. Last year, turnovers sabotaged the season with right around 40 of them. That's an insane number and there were a number of reasons that happened. Coach Smith has picked right up where Coach Duncan left off and the team hasn't skipped a beat. The O line...

Things are going well for Tilghman since Coach Duncan's departure. They have been very focused and this team is loaded with talent and some of the best depth in quite a while. Jayden Freeman, one of the state's best sprinters, is a dynamic player who should have a great impact this year. This is one of those teams that you can't base anything from the previous season off of. Of course, we'll have to see how everything plays out. Should...

Tilghman will be a factor in these rankings. The ceiling is extremely high this season. We'll just have to wait and see how it all ends up. For the preseason though, I can agree with those rankings fairly closely. Earn your way into them if not already there.

Can't wait. This is the most excited I've ever been for a season! There is just something really special about football on Friday nights.

Zipp is doing well. He's actually on the coaching staff at Westerville South High School in Ohio. He was a heck of a ball player at Kentucky.

I love the decision. Coach Smith is a longtime assistant, very relatable to this team and an all around great person. There is no doubt Coach Duncan will be greatly missed, but I think this was the most logical choice moving forward. I don't think much changes at all as far as our game plan for the season. This team has really rallied around Duncan's departute and I like the vibe I'm getting from it all. This Senior class will be...

Yes, unless something takes a different turn, there are a couple in house already that can take the reins and carry on what we started. One of the things I mentioned on the team preview thread was about this coaching staff. I don't think you'll see much change at all. The plan is to go with what we have in place. These assistant coaches have a very good grasp on what we were doing. If anything, after seeing what I saw tonight, I actually...

Due to medical reasons, tonight's practice was the last one in Coach Duncan's career. After coming back strong from a heart attack less than 2 years ago, Coach Duncan had a setback this week as he suffered a stroke. He was obviously advised by his doctor to immediately get away from stress. This dealt a severe blow as Coach Duncan is one of the greatest people I have ever met in my life. Very good football coach, absolutely exceptional...

I talked with one of the players at Austin Peay's football camp who shared his concern with departures from some very talented Seniors. I understand his concern, but believe they will be much better than what a lot of people expect.

Everyone is sure to remember Mister Cobble from Louisville Central who went on to play at UK. The first time we got to see him play, everyone was sure that wasn't his actual name, but it was. He was a great football player.
