  1. UK and UofL offer scholarships to only the elite players in each class but put most of their energy into recruiting outside the state. They are happy to welcome strong in-state talent as walk-ons because they will work their tales off to prove themselves for the possibility of a scholarship and being part of an in-state power 5 team. They pay in-state tuition and bring their KEES money and find a way to make it work because they WANT to play. Both schools get a lot out of those kids who often play their way onto the 2-deep or special teams depth charts. In 2017, 29 of 113 players on UK's roster were from Kentucky. 29 of 111 for UofL. Pretty sure most of those 58 kids were walk-ons.
  2. Maybe. Or possibly Moore and Mayer split the majority of the votes and VanCleave "snuck up" and took home the honor. It would be interesting to see the vote totals but pretty sure they won't be made public.
  3. They had him up for a game-day visit. They already had a commitment from a very good QB out of Arizona who did sign with Purdue. Don't think they are taking any more 2018 QBs.
  4. Bohn had a great visit to Lexington Saturday and is excited about the UK opportunity but has not accepted the offer yet. He will be visiting Louisville on Feb.3rd. Also has a PWO offer from Austin Peay. Other serious interest has come from NAIA/D2/D3 (Georgetown, Hanover, Centre, Marian, Ohio Dominican, Denison, Case Western)
  5. To discourage running up the score just to improve a team's computer ranking for seeding purposes, they should put a cap on the value of margin of victory. Make a 35-point margin have the same value as 50- or 60-point margin.
  6. I agree that UK was a great venue. One suggestion would be to cut the price of the home-side reserved chairback seats. $30 is ridiculous IMO. Glad we were on the visitors side this year.
  7. Agree, for some reason the stats on KHSAA link are not accurate or complete. For example Bohn's Simon Kenton stats are attributed to nose tackle Cody Auxier.
  8. Thanks Coach, looks like those stats for Bohn are missing the Simon Kenton game. Cody Auxier is the nose tackle and the stats for him are Bohn's stat line from the SK game. Looking forward to some great championships this weekend!
  9. Coach I am getting my stats from the official Trinity stat log. McKean is the backup and is 12/22 for 101yds and 1 TD in Varsity play. Not sure what "Rihards" is but would like to check it out, please post a link or send it to me privately. Thanks!
  10. Bohn's backup has a 54% completion rate. Most assume that the passing offense is all Moore. He catches 36.5% of the passes and accounts for 39% of the passing yards and 34% of the receiving TDs. Many of his receptions are short due to the space DBs give him so as not to get beat deep. Lots of weapons on the Trinity offense. Bohn played an average of 3 quarters per game and has not played 4 quarters since September 29th. Offensive line has improved a lot during the season and has battled a lot of injuries. Bohn gets a lot of pressure and I can't remember a better QB at scrambling to keep the play alive and then completing a pass. He is a very capable runner that toes the line and passes far more often than he runs. Was sacked for -109 yards total in the first 3 games, much improved since then. Updated stats are 271/338 for 3433 yds, 80.2%, 41 TDs/5 INTs
  11. I was told by our AD that parking is built into the ticket price, whether you buy it on Ticketmaster or at the stadium. You will NOT have to have a ticket to get in the lots as it is assumed that if you are at the stadium you will be buying a ticket. On ticketmaster, two general admission tix will cost you $34.30 ($17+ each), six general admission will cost $97.30 ($16+ each). If you are buying a bunch, it might be worth the extra $1 or so each to not have to interrupt a quality tailgate to go stand in line. Hopefully they will have plenty of windows open to handle the walk-up ticket sales.
