  1. David Henley is a great guy. First met him when he played in the All A Classic for Carlisle County when the tournament was held in NKY. They beat Bellevue in the finals and lost in OT( maybe two) to Henry Clay in the finals of the State Tournament. Played for the legendary Craynor Slone. He did a fantastic job at Holmes, before moving to North Oldham and then Eastern. Always enjoyed bumping into Dave and catching up. Enjoy your retirement sir!
  2. Be interesting to hear your take on their "philosophical differences". I had a superintendent many years ago tell me that quite often the devil you know is a lot better than the one you don't know. Cooper is arguably one of the three or four best jobs in NKY. I honestly don't think that's the same case at Dixie. Apparently he wasn't a good fit for Conner either.
  3. That's great! One year I looked at a home box score and their attendance was 339. NKU led the Horizon in men's and women's a couple seasons ago at around 3900 and 1200.
  4. Hopefully they will begin to generate some fan interest. Their crowds are usually rather sparse. I'm being nice.
  5. I'd think after the run of talent and success that Holthaus has had he knows it will be a while before that happens again in a very good district. I think Sullivan may never have been a serious candidate.
  6. Fredrick has been playing college basketball for a long time. I know he's had some injuries, but he's been out of HS maybe 7 years???
  7. Why? Just because he graduated from there? He knows it's a mess. Why leave a program that you built from scratch to try and fix it?
  8. That was The Pope....not Mark Pope lol.
  9. It's pretty evident that there is a great deal of jealousy by the current players and former players. Most of that is because no matter how great they were or are they have not been able to drive the game like Clark has. She seems to have been very fortunate to have escaped injury. Was it just me or did she take a couple hits on those long range bombs in the semis and finals? Everyday coaches preach don't foul the jump shooter. I'm afraid someone will decide to pound on her to limit her effectiveness and to prove they are the show. Just my take. I hope she can help make the WNBA a more valuable product.
  10. My contention is that on ANY level when you can hire one of your own they understand what it's about! Good luck to a real UK guy.
  11. This should let people know how difficult the small school jobs really are. I remember that old Villa gym. The wall was out of bounds lol.
  12. Tim's brother Don was at Villa. Tim was at Conner.
  13. Donovan has been removed from the college game for several years. I asked one of his former assistants how he enjoyed coaching in the NBA when Donovan was at OKC. His exact words: "Well, there's no recruiting". I guess he's changed his mind? Seems like it would be worse than ever with NIL and the portal. But hey, you never know.
  14. I think he's making enough to take care of his family for a looooooooong time. He strikes me as the kind of guy that doesn't expect to live extravagantly but comfortably. Most of these guys work so much and have so many perks that they can't spend it.
  15. And he hasn't had to deal with the lunatic fringe of America like he would have to do in Lexington lol.
