I highly doubt it. Not sure what went wrong for him at UofL, but as far as WKU goes, he had a very toxic atmosphere when he was here and there is 0% chance WKU admin would want him back. Perhaps Taggart will get fired? :)

$1.2 Million buyout right now. At end of season it will be $900,000. I think Sanford will still be coaching WKU next season, and if the team doesn't have a solid showing, he will be fired.

That's just not true. They do compete in FBS. I think you have the Alabama's, Auburn's, LSU's in mind when you talk about FBS. Remember that there are 130 FBS teams, and about 70 P5 teams. Sports aren't fun because only the best teams are allowed to compete. The beautiful thing about sports is that money isn't everything and anyone can beat anyone. For example, look at UofL football 15 years ago. They were in C-USA and equivalent to what WKU is...

Statistically, that just isn't true, and it isn't even close. There are a few powerhouse FCS programs, but far and away the gap between FCS and G5 is much wider than G5 to P5. Budgets, attendance, skill gap, etc is much larger than you would expect. This argument has been made ad nauseam and you can find plenty of data online from a quick google search. As far as AAC becoming a "Power" conference and all other conferences should be "kicked...

I guarantee every single G5 team would gladly play a P5 schedule. Better home games = more money from ticket sales and TV contracts. The problem is that it is impossible for them to play a "P5" schedule since those teams won't schedule them. It would make zero sense for a P5 team to play road games at G5 schools, I admit. What I'm saying is that the playing field isn't even from the start of the season and thus half of FBS is ineligible to...

Perhaps it is a waste of time to watch good teams play terrible teams, but if you honesty think schools like WKU, Marshall, Southern Miss, Miami of Ohio, etc deserve to be FCS then idk what to tell you. They may not ever be CFP material, but on most years there are dozens of "G5" schools much more deserving of being considered a "Power" school than a couple dozen "P5" programs. I mean, just look at what happens when "P5" schools play road...

Well, that kind of proves my point. Those teams can afford to do home-and-home games with Ohio State. Nobody thinks that those teams are barred from making the CFP. You don't see Ohio State playing road games with schools like Ohio U, Akron, Bowling Green, etc. Those schools are effectively barred from making the CFP because their "schedule isn't difficult enough," yet it is literally impossible for them to have any good school play them at...

You're not wrong. College football regular season is for sure more exciting than basketball regular season. However, if you want to treat the college football regular season as "a defacto tournament," then there needs to be equal footing between teams during the regular season like there is in the NCAA basketball tournament. You can't have teams like Alabama playing 8 home games per season and 4 road games per season. That is not a tournament...

Of all stadiums I've visited, I'd have to say LSU by a mile. That place is just on a whole other level. I thought Bryant Denny Stadium would be up there, but when I visited it felt more like an NFL game than a college football game.

Agreed. Which is exactly why it will never happen. College basketball is somewhat similar in that big money programs have a huge advantage for advancing to the NCAA tournament since they often can afford to play no true non-conference away games and never at "smaller" schools. Schools with less money often play half their non-conference games on the road and can almost never get quality teams to play them at home. This is a huge advantage...

Nope. We are hot garbage. Still took us missing two FG's for UofL to pull off the victory though. Imagine what would have happened if WKU had a half-competent football coach.
