  1. This was a nice tournament to get an early look at some of the top instate players along with incoming freshmen to many of the colleges in and around this state. There does seem to be an oversaturation of tournaments for high school kids, but hate to hear this one has to go.
  2. Kentucky's defense is the biggest problem. They cannot guard the ball and away from the ball they are slow to move their feet. Young teams take time to develop in this area, but their season will go as their defense goes.
  3. Good mix of teams in this field. Somerset teams are represented along with several others from across the state.
  4. That is a huge loss to that program, especially with the hype they were giving this kid. He is a player that has tremendous upside and whoever gets him is getting a difference maker.
  5. I would have thought that Zion would end up at prep school. Is he for sure staying at Bowling Green?
  6. Interesting move for Sharpe. Seen him play a couple times in high school and he was very competitive. Wish him all the best with his new home at NKU.
  7. Being a member in this community and around the program, I can tell you that Coach Edge was done wrong by the administration. They knew who they were getting and praised him as a great hire until one parent stirred up trouble when his son quit the team before the season started. Apparently this parent was actually in on the hiring process (so I hear). The parent went to the Board meeting and demanded that he be fired and it began the slow process of extermination. Edge was asked to resign or to be fired and I’m told he chose to be fired (due to the reasons given him). Edge had moved his family of eight to Russell County in September or October and was fired in January. He also had three former Laker players as assistants on his staff and that did not help his cause. Blankenship took over the position and is the brother in law to Brian Milburn and the House of Rep. leader Jeff Hoover. Lots of politics taking place in Russell County and no secret what went down in this firing.
  8. I'd be extremely surprised if he stays in the draft. NBA teams/scouts have the luxury of seeing if kid can play at the college level and to get a sense of their overall strengths and weaknesses. The kid is too talented not to get drafted, but I don't think he'd be a lottery pick this year. The wise move would be to come back and develop for next year's draft--given it should be a bit weaker.
  9. If next year serves him well he'll mature emotionally. He is one of those players that seems to have been in college for the last 7 years.
