  1. Based on pre-season rankings and results over past 8 years, it certainly would be considered an upset. Of course, I think we need to see both teams play several more games with the football season behind them to see if this was a BIG upset or if the teams are closer than expected. Based on my eye test last night, CovCath has clearly dropped a level from last year. Likewise, a healthy Ben Sisson has certainly elevated HHS a level or two this season. The Technical foul was a turning point in the game. But the difference in the game was HHS coaches making it top priority to run their offense through Ben in the 2nd half. It's early and lots of games still to play, but if nothing else, it was fun just watching the excitement in the HHS student section. Could lead to some positive momentum for the early part of this season.
  2. Congrats to Highlands High School. They won the 8th Region with an outstanding team total of 293. Grant County finished 2nd with a 307. The tough conditions were overcome by some exciting chip ins and hole outs throughout the round by great players from the 3 top teams (Highlands, Grant County, Mason County).
  3. I didn't see any updates from the first Beechwood scrimmage. Was there a thread that I just missed? I was trying to see how the QB position played out.
  4. Somebody else asked me why Dreeves was pitching and not Rom. There are plenty of possible reasons, here is just one more. Likely not the reason for Elder game, but this would be my reason if I were coaching. Rom has seen plenty of good opponents and tight games in the past 2 years in Region and State. Dreeves has not had the same experience since Doty was around last year. So, I would want to put Dreeves into several "big games" this year to get him ready come region time. You already know what you have in Rom.
  5. Sorry for the interruption. Luken was the difference in the semi-final game. Is he a Junior or Senior?
  6. Somebody please confirm...Are there 18 nominees and then 5 finalist? Or are all 18 players finalist? What group or who is responsible for voting/selecting the ultimate winner? I ask because Kunkel and Fredrick from the 9th region are both deserving of some consideration. Fredrick seems to be more likely the pick, but having a co player from the 9th region could hurt his chances depending on how voting is done.
  7. How did Ben Sisson look? I know it wasn't high level competition, but did he look comfortable running/jumping/cutting?
  8. is there a radio station for PRP and Highlands tonight?
  9. I am listening but is there also a link for live stats?
  10. Enjoying my first glimpse at Zion. His quickness is so evident in just a couple of minutes. How tall is he?
  11. Cooper shot 37% but had a lot of great looks. Their defense was awesome and those shots will hopefully fall in next couple of rounds. If they do fall, they will be a real contender.
  12. 1 -- Scott County 1 -- Bowling Green 1 -- Scott 1 -- Perry County Central 1 -- Elliott County 1 -- Cooper 1 -- Ballard 1 -- Fern Creek 2 -- Scott County 2 -- Perry County Central 2 -- Cooper 2 -- Fern Creek 3 -- Scott County 3 -- Cooper 5 -- Cooper TB -- 118
  13. I am 9th region fan and pulling for SK at the game. Just cant believe I am seeing posts about reffing of this game. This was an a great game and 2 very good teams competed. But refs did not decide this game. Niece is a good and smart player, she has to adjust and not foul 80 feet from the basket. Her own coach was clearly upset with her and not refs. I loved her game last night, just wish she would have avoided bad fouls and been in the game more.
