  1. I didn't say JV games don't matter. I was trying to say that wins and losses on the JV level are not necessarily an indication of the success that the varsity program may or may not have in the future. The JV games do definitely matter by giving kids experience to prepare them for playing on the varsity level. No doubt.
  2. First of all, not really sure what a JV game has to do with anything. As most high school basketball fans know, JV games are not an indication of anything. Congratulations on beating the GRC JV team this season. Due to injuries for several of the younger players, the JV team was a majority of the middle school team most of the season. I believe GRC started two 7th graders, two 8th graders, and a sophomore in the JV game against Mason County. And I think the sophomore is actually a transfer from Virginia. Second of all, it was a walk. The referee made the correct call and sent the game into overtime. GRC made more plays in the overtime and won the game. But most of all, quit calling GRC a bunch of cheaters!!! Because when you (and all the fans in the stands after the game that were yelling this crap at both GRC coaches and players) claim the reason that players transferred to GRC is because they were "recruited", you are calling some pretty good people who run the GRC program, cheaters! Some adults should take the lead from some of the Mason County players who congratulated GRC both on the floor that night and on social media after the region tournament and the Sweet 16. The fact is, GRC will routinely compete at the highest level in the 10th with or without transfers. GRC's basketball tradition (recent academic performance of the school shows it does alright in that area as well) and its proximity to Lexington will probably always attract potential transfers to the school. And just think, when the new gym is built...
  3. Sydney Anderson from GRC is also a senior and has had a very good senior year. She is a 4-year starter and a big contributor to the 2014 Sweet 16 Final 4 team and last year's regional runner-up team.
  4. GRC senior Sydney Anderson signed this past week to play basketball at Hillsdale College, an NCAA DII school located in Hillsdale, Michigan.
  5. Let's not forget Sydney Anderson. I think she was the 2nd leading scorer for GRC last season. I also heard that she has committed to Hillsdale College, an NCAA D2 school in Michigan and will sign during the early signing period. I think most are forgetting that GRC still has some talent and could be right in the mix in the 10th.
