"The police were called because these men hadn’t ordered anything. They were waiting for a friend to show up, who did as they were taken out in handcuffs for doing nothing. All the other white ppl are wondering why it’s never happened to us when we do the same thing."....this quote was from the twitter page of Melissa Depino ( the woman who shot the video)

You're 100% correct. I don't have a clue about this situation. That was just a blanket statement in general. Good luck to Mason, Carson and NKU

Yeah, I'm not arguing that winning is important. Maybe both sides decided to part ways mutually. I still think there has to be more to coaching young men other than jockeying them to win games.

I don't think its a primary responsibility; but it should be part of the equation. Winning is the ultimate goal. But there has to be a balancing act I think

I'm willing to bet that coach didn't tell Mason's parents that when he sat in their living room as their son was about to make one of the most important decisions in his life. It's got to be more to coaching these kids that are leaving home for the first time. I understand winning is important but developing these young men is important also. I don't have any insight on Mason's or Carson's situation. It may just be that both sides mutually...

Each situation is different I think. And I also don't think it all falls on the kid. A lot of these kids need development. To have a chance to come in and be brought along at a pace that can make them the best that they can be in the end. What is happening a lot of more times than not is that the college coach more-less passes by a kid that maybe isn't where they need to be in their first couple of seasons. And move on to the next great...

The Courier Journal reported that CJ couldn't work out the dates with Iowa so he had to turn down the offer. Coach Chalk stated that he knew about this before tryouts more less.

I appreciate you sharing this; I don't think the kids that didn't show up meant any harm or disrespect to the state. My favorite player wanted no parts of this tryout, for no other reason other than that he was exhausted with basketball. His body was sore and he just basically went through the motions (2-two hour practice sessions and a game). I understood the honor he was presented by being selected to tryout, so I made him go. He didn't...

Yeah, I don't like how this looks. I was watching the Jordan Classic game this year and one of the comments made was that this class as a whole is not very tough or competitive (they were responding to questions about about Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson). The word entitled was thrown around a lot. I don't know the real reasons for some of the kids not attending, maybe they all have legitimate reasons as to why they couldn't show up. It's...

Yeah, by no means am I making excuses for the kids, but the talk coming out of the KY/OH game was they were beat up...alot of knee issues and sore backs from a few of them. The practices at the KY/OH weekend were brutal and long. I suggested to my favorite player sore knees and all that he go to the tryouts, and he participated ....sometimes you gotta do things you might not wanna do. Tidbits......Trevon and Wales didn't participate in the...

This is a long answer to why some didn't show up, but not an excuse. I personally don't think there should have been a try out. But alot of these kids are exhausted and beat up from the season. They play alot of minutes on their respective high school teams. The KY/OH weekend was grueling. They practiced alot. Alot of them left there banged up. Mentally and physically they just need a break and this tryout was just at a bad time for those kids....

I've never seen the young man play but have heard great things about him. Is he good enough to compete on that national stage? What position does he play? Also I'm wondering if this means that Johnson might be on his way somewhere else.

Good shooter, saw the writing on the wall I think at Bama. In addition, Riley Norris was granted a med red shirt which makes playing time extremely difficult to come by next season at Bama.

I'm thinking it just may be better to go to college and let the chips fall. You get a year of the college atmosphere and all that that experience brings on and off the court. If you don't put up great numbers in college, I don't think it hurts your chances at the league. On the flip side, if you go into the G-league, it's all business all the time. Your college experience will be gone (and trust me, the college experience as a superstar...

Being a police officer is a very difficult job that comes with inherit risks. Undeniable. I applaud all the good officers protecting and serving our communities. But there is a very distinct difference in being afraid and feeling threatened. Being afraid doesn't warrant pulling the trigger....may not apply totally to this case per say; but to some of the other incidents that we have seen.

If playing the 3 was his issue at NKU; he would have the same fit problem at WKU. Stansbury wants athletic wings to play the 3. He however fits the mold of Johnson who plays on the perimeter and the post. WKU may not be a bad move for him afterall.

The G league will teach the kids pro basketball principles...the college game is vastly different from the pro game. Much more open floor concepts. Darius is a better player than he is getting credit for IMO. I thought he played well against Langford in their matchup. It's a risky proposition at this point in it's infancy, but I suspect there will be some changes to make it more appeasing to the elite guys.

Good looking roster. Hayes is listed at 6'9; he is easily 6'10 or 11....kid is a beast and Davenport might be the most underrated person on the roster. Solid team

I didn't see a lot of perimeter work with him during the season. Breaking down defenders off the dribble etc. Is this because he can't do it or he isn't allowed to do it within the system of the team.

They all pretty much play the same position. Community college/JUCO's are cut-throat....every man for himself. That situation is gonna get interesting in a hurry. Also on one of the coaches tweets I noticed he welcomed everyone but Lewis.

I know people are gonna jump on the Larue train and fairly so; they played very well down the stretch this past season. But they are losing the PG King, and he by far was the most talented player on the team. They have huge physical bodies; but they don't necessarily have a high bball skill set. They are great kids and they play very hard; but without King stirring the drink, I don't think they will be as good as they will be projected.

I was yelling at the t.v. for him to shoot it. Those are the shots that he makes. Also Hollingsworth missed some shots near the foul line area that are in his wheelhouse.

It sure isn't; and very soon. His 2019 class will be special. I figure that is in part why he was hired. The city of Memphis is loaded with talent, and I think the top player in 2019 played on the high school team he coached last year.
