I understand that point as well; but Dontaie is 6'6 maybe 6'7, and in the state of Kentucky that typically means "go to the post and play big man". He is in the perfect system in the sense that it appears (from the outside looking in) that the coach has allowed him to grow into that perimeter player at his height that a lot of colleges look for. Winning is good, but playing in a system that fits your skill set and allows you to groom and hone...

I think Harmon led the state in scoring, but your point is well taken. You hit the nail on the head with the second point though.....he is in a system that fits him perfectly.

It appears that Adam Kunkel has declined to play in the Kentucky/Indiana all-star game. Really weakens the team if this one is true.

The dynamics of Fort Knox makes this job as well as any coaching job on Fort Knox almost impossible to succeed.

I think it matters only because we're from Kentucky and we root for our Kentucky kids. if there is a kid in the state that has a chance to play at one of the top two programs in the country; we cheer for that kid and for that offer to come. If he isn't then, so be it. And as you stated; this opportunity doesn't present itself very often. There aren't many kids that come through the state that can play at UK.

I admit I haven't seen Johnson as much as most probably. What I've seen from Tandy is he has the athleticism and basketball ability to play at the next level even UK in my opinion. A lot of high school players "play" a certain way because 1. they have to in order for the team to be successful; and 2. Especially on defense; they have never been held accountable for not playing good defense. I think both of those things can easily be coached...

He did outplay a couple of UK recruits....I've been seeing and hearing his name a lot more on the circuit so far. I think he just picked up an Ole Miss offer....that may be old news though

I think he is the best player in the state in the 19 class. If he isn't good enough then I don't think we have one in the state that is good enough.

"People said the same stuff about Mitchell Robinson last year. At some point, people will just have to learn that Stansbury is an ace recruiter who works on connections constantly. WKU has a guy on our team now who played under the same coach/handler that Bassey plays for. Two years ago we also had a guy from the same coach. Stansbury has been working on the Bassey lead for at least two or three years." CyrusJS reported it first...good call

I think Helton is a good coach. But I think the verdict is still out on him as far as being elite or great. Chip is considered an elite coach IMO. I think he will bring something to UCLA that hasn't been there in awhile maybe even ever. There's enough talent in LA for both teams.

1000% agree. These kids have multiple schools recruiting them. In the end they make an informed decision that they and their families think is the best. Kid gets to school and find out maybe it wasn't the best decision....for various reasons. The good thing is Carson and many others have the option to try again somewhere else. Good luck big fella

dognation2 replied to a thread LaVar Ball in College Basketball
To be fair....and for the record I don't agree with all of Lavar Ball's tactics and decisions; but LiAngelo did lead the league in scoring before he was injured. And as far as what they may do next; Lavar is attempting to start his own developmental league the JBL; for high school grads that don't want to attend college. Just for the fairness of reporting sake.

Well the Robinson thing did turn out crazy to be honest and fair. Stansbury is a really good recruiter, that I'm not debating, my point is if he lands Bassey who by all accounts is a top 20 type of big, it will set off alarms and be scrutinized to no ends.

If WKU gets Bassey all kinds of red flags and sirens would go off. Could be legit, but it would definitely be scrutinized and investigated.
