  1. I have pondered over the years of a way to class basketball and still keep the integrity of the Sweet 16. Split schools into 4 classes like the old football model. Play regional tournaments in these classes (no need to have a district tournament). Play home and home with each team in your region class to seed tournament. After each region champion is crowned play to a final 4 in each class (sectionals). Final four of each class advance to Sweet 16 and play class semifinals on Wednesday and Thursday. Class champions crowned on Fridays. Each class champion advances to overall semis on Saturday with winners playing on Sunday for overall state champion. Thoughts??
  2. Adair overcame a 13 point first quarter deficit to reach the finals of the 5th for the first time in 8 years. Kel Stotts had 30 to lad the Indians.
  3. Top bracket John Hardin vs Nelson Co Adair Co vs Caverna Bottom North Hardin vs Larue Co Bardstown vs Taylor Co
  4. Congrats to Louisville Cammerer on winning the 6th Grade Middle School State Tournament. Also happy to see the showing that Adair Co. made. Coach Greg Lundy has done a great job with these boys and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of progress the team will make over the next few years.
  5. Finals: Adair Co. vs. Kammerer Adair won by two over Elkhorn; Dont know the Kammerer over Combs score.
  6. First round games have been posted on the kba website. What are some of the better games for Friday night?
  7. Great early season game between two highly regarded 7th grade teams, Southern Pulaski and South Laurel, at Adair Co. tournament today. South Laurel pulled away at the end to win, but excellent players on both of these teams. The big boy for South Laurel was a horse down low.
  8. The Coach threw his headset because the quarterback that was injured was his SON, who was not able to play last year due to a back injury, and has now lost the rest of his senior year due to a broken ankle. Coach Graves is a class act, and I am sure it was the parent in him that was so upset because his son will not get to play his full senior season of football. In regards to the paramedics, I was told that at their were two wrecks in Columbia that happened at the same time of the injury. In small town Columbia, there are only four paramedics on duty at a time (with all four working wrecks) and they had to wait on the "on call" people to arrive. Not an excuse, but a matter of happenstance. Good Luck Monroe, You all have a fine team. Wish I would be able to see the Roe/Green game later this season, but wont be able to.
  9. Hazard-- Whitaker 10 pts, Back 3 pts. West-- Polson 4 pts, Mefford 3 pts end of 1st
  10. Looks Good, but I would maybe change a couple of teams in the 4th....Hart, Caverna, Glasgow, Barren would be a natural district with four teams in neighboring counties. Put Alllen, Monroe, Metcalfe, Green in one. Adair, Russell, Cumberland, Clinton. Then the Bowling Green schools in one. Also there is another Warren Co. school being built in the Plano area, so there would be five teams in the Bowling Green District. Good job though, that is a lot of work.
  11. I would also have to add Nick Fudge from Adair Co. to this growing list
