  1. With a victory over Dixie, they are assured round 1 and 2 at home. 3rd round will be away if the one seed in the other district wins round 2 ,at CCH if they lose. Game will most likely be HHS vs Anderson. 4th round will be away again this year due to cross-bracketing.
  2. Most high school games have administrators from the schools attending. These administrators will rule with an "iron fist" with students attending a game. I say it is time they step up and do the same with any fan (parent, local supporters. etc...). Also, attempt to discourage the tailgating prior to games. I believe majority of schools ban it on school property and not much they can do about off campus. Coaches and administrators should strongly encourage them not to. Celebrate after the game. Coaches and administrators need to clearly define what is expected and enforce it, players ,coaches and fans. I would think those assigned officiating at schools like this would find it to be a good atmosphere to work
  3. It may be argued but I put my money on Coach Lynn Ray, who said it was the best team in Covington Catholic history
  4. Covington Catholic's trainer is supplied by St. Elizabeth. In my experience, he is one of the best in the state. He has a lot to do with the success of all the programs at CCH.
  5. Heard that Coach Lynn Ray declared the 2017 Covington Catholic Colonels the best team in the 50 year history of Cov Cath football at the banquet this evening. I would say that ends the discussion.
  6. The diocese is committed to keeping schools in the inner- city. Schools like NCC and Holy Cross aren't going anywhere soon. The other diocese high schools in NKY are new or extensively renovated. Look for those two schools to have money spent on them in the near future
  7. I have been a CCH fan for years, I have been to many HHS/CCH games. Every game the last 8 years. I was always impressed with the confidence, discipline, the way the players ran on and off the field between plays and the how efficient the plays were called and delivered. That dimension seems to be diminished It could be because of a bad season took that away and the team is struggling to get it back. HHS football is a tough standard to hold up to. As a CCH fan it may be good but with the program on the rise ( team has a lot of those HHS football intangibles ) I hope HHS Coach get those back and hope for some great football games in the future
  8. I recall as a student trainer for a nky team in the mid 80s getting sent to meet to another nky team under the bridge by Newport stadium. It was playoff time and they had film from a team down state that we were facing the next game and we had film for the team they were facing. Don't recall the other team but it was dark and for a kid from the suburbs it seemed like a clandestine operation.
  9. With district 5 only having 3 teams with the loss of Grant County and being paired with district 3 which has 6, which team will take the 4 seed in district 5?
  10. Yes, it should be! It will be implemented next school year and require coaches to attend classes. Like everything today, what Coaches do everyday to promote those goals, somebody has to make into an organized class with guidelines or policies. Like the Diocese did with dead period, extending it a week for students to spend more time with families. I hope this program could help with extremes that some programs go to with out hurting the ability to compete.
  11. playlikeachampion.nd.edu. It is a program thru the University of Notre Dame for coaches, player and parents. I quote "promote an inclusive, developmentally-oriented youth sports culture. It does this primarily by educating ethically responsible sport leaders , coaches, parents, athletic administrators and athletes - who in turn will reach millions of young people.
  12. Will the implementation of the national program "Play Like A Champion" by the Diocese of Covington have an impact on sports program success
