PKs can be a coin flip, how was the game during the 90 minutes (80 +10), fair 1-1 result? Earlier in the year I thought Simon Kenton had a chance to contend for the 8th region.

This is cool, even with a Strength of Schedule of 566 it still takes a concerted effort by all of the players to get it done, nice job. Did the goalie(s) score also or are these 23 players field players only?

CCH gets 2 goals in the first half, another in the second and then empty the bench midway through to cruise to the win. Dixie plays hard to the end, congrats to them on a good season. The doubleheader is a huge success. Both NDA and CCH send their supporters home happy, and it attracts one of the larger crowds you will see at a local HS soccer game. Great atmosphere, great venue, great night for all of the players to have the opportunity to...

Based on what I heard, not sure it had anything to do with helping the assigner, if it does that's a bonus. NDA can not host at their place due to no lights, so they had to move their first round game to another venue. In years past they rented Dixie HS. Not sure how NDA and CCH are handling the arrangement, such as rent free to NDA in exchange CCH gets the gate and concession, etc. And I would certainly expect one admission gets you both...

Some interesting first round matchups. Holy Cross @ St Henry is one to watch. St Henry in most home games has a huge advantage given the natural grass field and how they leave it very long on game days. Since HC also plays their home games on natural, very long grass also, this should reduce the home field advantage St Henry enjoys against a lot of opponents. Nice touch by NDA and CCH for scheduling the double header on Monday @ CCH. And to...

If I'm a Calvary supporter I'm asking myself why this is. If this is a reoccurring issue it's hard to blame bad luck for being knocked out early. In any one season, injuries can play a part. If the cause is not solely due to impact players going down then what is the reason? Strength of schedule, i.e. playing a soft schedule, priorities, W-L-T record/scoring a lot of goals Vs trying to win your region or is it something else? Current Maher SOS...

I figured the coaches or AD called the score into KHSAA. Not sure KHSAA goes by what is posted on the score board. I agree with you comments. How has Brossart done on the plastic surface this season? I'll go with a 2-1 Brossart win.

Little surprised but not surprised. Early in the season I thought Calvary had a chance to make some noise in the 10th region, thought they looked dangerous in August. Explains why I'm a little surprised. Not surprised due to the schedule Calvary played, IMO this is a big reason teams such as this have a tendency to get knocked out early in the post season. Congrats to CC, should be a good, exciting final on Thursday.

Seems odd/unusual to have the semi finals on different days. Should give the winner of the Murray/Mayfield winner vs. Calloway County an advantage on Thursday.

I believe a tackle from behind, certainly one hard enough to knock the offensive player off the ball or knock him down (not sure how hard the foul was in this case) is a foul if you get the ball or not. Maybe the own goal was called a gift due to the Boone player knocking it into the goal instead of clearing it out, which would have prevented the Brossart player from tapping it in. Was the attempt to clear it a shank, miss hit?

Strongest, most competitive are two different questions IMO. And by strongest do you mean which has the most depth or best team? Obviously this changes each yr so talking 2017 only, IMO most competitive is 37th, although the 33 and 34 will be as well. Most depth is 33rd. Ask me around 9:30PM on Oct 21 and I give my strongest.

Another sign the 37th District tournament will be a wide open, 3 horse race to the finish line? Brossart would appear to have an easy first round game Vs Scott, the opposite can likely be said about the Calvary Vs Campbell Co game. Setting up a very competitive final on 10/12. Two off days between the first round and final probably dull and voids an easy game Vs a difficult game on 10/9.

I'm a bit confused, were you at this game (NDA Vs Dixie)? If you weren't in attendance what prompts you to say, "NDA Dominated the game against Dixie also"? I do not see where anyone else on BGPs indicated NDA dominated their games Vs Dixie. There are currently 3 post on the Dixie v NDA thread, not one of them say one thing about either team dominating the game.

Having watched thousands of soccer matches, it is rare when a 4-1 game is not dominated by long stretches of the game by the winning team. This was not one of those rare occasions. The losing side at times has a way of convincing themselves otherwise. Either way, dominating performance or not, no matter how you slice it, how you debate it, if "they (NDA) had one shot that beat the HHS defense. ONE" or not (I still count 4) or what colored...

Obviously we see things different. Goals scored off of set pieces are beating the defense... for a number of reasons. First during the run of play the offensive player(s) created a situation causing the defensive play to foul or commit an infraction that resulted in a set piece being awarded to the offensive team. Second the offensive player or players must convert the set piece against the defense to score a goal. It is not as if the 11...

I stand by my 70 minutes comment and it is a round number, maybe 68 minutes, 71... I never said HHS wasn't dangerous, in their 10-12 minutes they had good chances, on one particular shot the NDA keep had to come up big and she did. And don't forget the HHS keeper came up big a couple of times also. And sure if HHS goes up 2-0 it may well have been a different game, but that can be said of a ton of games played between two good teams, "If we had...

Yes all defense fouls committed in the penalty area result in a PK attempt awarded to the offensive team. Sometimes when the foul is committed very close to the edge of the penalty area the ref will call the foul but not award a PK, instead awarding a free kick just outside the area, by doing so he "indicates" he saw the foul being committed just outside the area. As you describe it accurately, I thought the call in the NDA/HHS game was a...

NDA dominated this game for the better part of 70 minutes. HHS gets their lone goal in the first half off a ball played sky high that skims the cross bar on the way down and lands a yard or two in front of the goal where an unmarked Deckert for HHS knocks it into the back of the net, 1-0 at the half. NDA's first goal is off a well taken corner kick to the near post that beats the keeper, didn't see or hear who got credit for this goal. NDA's...
