  1. Boone County is still looking to add a couple of Varsity games, please reach out if you have some availability on your schedule and looking to schedule. We will also be looking for JV and Freshman games both as well. Please reach out to me at Shawn.sproles@myib.com if you have any interest. Good luck to everyone this year.
  2. It was definitely nice to visit "the cage" again. So many great memories there. With that being said I think the scrimmage indeed served its purpose. The Birds are hungry and played determined to show they want to return to the elite of the region. It also reminded our team while we are talented we lost a lot of experience and need to focus on coming together to have a great year. Hopefully that was a nice wake up call and I do think the Rebels will respond well Side note, since I do coach Lorenzen in the summer I might have smiled a bit when she hit that homerun. Since it was just a scrimmage my reaction was definitely happiness. Not sure how I will respond in two weeks.....The joys of coaching high school and summer ball both. Good luck to everyone this year!!!!!!
  3. She left the Stealer program last year for the Static. Great kid who works hard, congrats on the offer
  4. Birds took the lead with one in the bottom of the first. Star Smith came through for the Lady Rebels with a bases loaded double in the top of the 3rd scoring two to grab the lead. Olivia Jackson went the distance in the win and chipped in offensively with two hits. The Lady Rebels are off until next week. Another district game against Conner is on the books for next week.
  5. A little behind on updates, but Boone County was back in action last night after a 2nd place finish over the past weekend in the Shelby County Invitational. The win over Ryle last night has the Lady Rebels sitting 2-0 in district play thus far. Liv Jackson went the distance and helped her own cause with a solo home run in the 2nd inning. Jayda Collins with a two out bases loaded single to break it open in the 4th. Karys Black and Rylie Grau both with extra base hits. The Lady Rebels are back in action today on the road against Highlands.
  6. Just one pack of fruit snacks? I am still bummed "cake eaters" didn't actually mean eating cake before or after games.
  7. Tight game throughout. We jumped on the board with a single run early then Campbell County tied it up in the top of the 4th on a Mckinlee Miller rbi single. Jayda Collins came through in the bottom of the 6th with a bases loaded clearing two out hit. Campbell County did load the bases in the top of the 7th but failed to cross the plate. Final 5-1 The Lady Rebels will be heading to the Birdcage this Sat to play the Bluebirds. Go Rebels.
  8. Lady Rebels were trailing 2-1 heading into the 6th then 8th grader Morgan Daniels hit a two strike two out home run to tie it up, Her first career home run. Carroll County takes the lead with one in the bottom of 6th. We score 7 in top of 7th and hold on to win 9-5 Varsity heads to Walton Verona tomorrow. I will be at Dixie with the JV so my report May be delayed. I don't have the book on me but I do know junior shortstop Shelby Wright was 5-5. Not up to Lawnboy Status yet but that's like chasing Jordan when it comes to recaps Go Rebels.
  9. Liv Jackson with a no hitter in the first home game this year. Lady Rebels travel to Carroll County tomorrow.
  10. Congrats Addisyn. I had the pleasure of watching her hit some nice shots this past summer
  11. A little delayed in my congratulations but we had three Boone Co players hit their first high school home runs this past week down at Eastern. Always a big moment for sure so congrats to 8th Grader Karys Black, Junior Olivia Jackson and senior Kenna Black who decided to hit two in our 3 games. Home Opener tonight vs Gallatin Co. Go Rebels
  12. I paid the upgrade fee just now sir
