  1. There have been many incidents along the way, some big and some small. Last week at the Boyd Co. Game a player was asked to check back ( had played several minutes) into the game with 23 seconds to go, he refused to go back in . Told Coach Biggs " I'm not going in with 23 seconds left " Absolutely refused. Next night at Rowan that same player starts JV and plays varsity minutes ! Does that sound like a disciplinarian to you ?? Just one example, could give you many more
  2. It has gone on since day one of Biggs tenure, summer ball is when it started !! It has happened multiple times during the season, could be he has changed or could be that the administration at MC has tied his hands, that administration would be the ex coach who is now principal and the guy that hired him. I heard all the talk about discipline with coach Biggs but so far it has not been true at MC. Believe me I would welcome it .
  3. I guess getting a little sideways on the topic is understandable but , in my opinion, it comes down to this : parents need to teach their kids respect and rules, coaches need to have that same message . When kids see that rules either don't apply or only apply to some , then there is a definite problem with the message being sent by the coach. I have watched this deterioration for years now, I for one, am fed up with it. Let's do the right thing for the kids and the school and teach some life lessons along the way. Last time I checked in the real world there are consequences for your actions. Second chances are great for kids but teach a lesson along the way. So when high school is over and they have to go out and get a job( most if not all will never make a living from basketball ) they are at least a little prepared
  4. If you have been to every game then you have seen all the technicals received by our players this year for talking to the officials and trash talking other players. If you pay attention you will see the talking back to the coach, just watch the bench during time outs. It is a shame that the program is where it is , it was once a privilege to wear the uniform. We had tremendous pride in our school and what the uniform stood for , MC Pride was once the norm now not so much
  5. I have watched the Mason Co Royals boys basketball teams for many years, I have been thoroughly disappointed this year in the attitudes of the players and the behavior on the court. I am fed up with watching players disrespect the coaches, players, officials and at times even the spectators. I am most disappointed in the fact that they are tarnishing the tradition that myself and others have played for . The slogan "Tradition never graduates " is not true any longer . The current coaches and players don't seem to know what "Tradition" even means. The Mason Co. Royals name used to stand for a winning tradition but also stood for winning with class. We don't win or lose with that class anymore. I am disappointed in Coach Biggs and the lack of discipline he has brought to our program. After watching it for months now and hoping for a change I don't believe it's going to happen. Coach Biggs has continually let players disrespect him and others with no repercussions. When the Head Coach allows players to talk back and tell him what they are and are not going to do, when they completely ignore his instructions and nothing is ever done about it, it's time for a change. If not the same thing that happened at his last school will happen here, good kids/players will leave. I for one want to win but not at all cost. It's important to teach kids responsibility and accountability. That's not happening at all, the entire coaching staff lets this foolishness go on ! It's time for a change, either in the personnel or in the philosophy but something needs to change or the rich tradition of Mason Co basketball will be tarnished or completely lost. Coach Biggs needs to wake up and be a leader. We want to see these kids succed on and off the court. They need a leader that will hold them accountable and teach them discipline . Not someone who allows them to do whatever they want. I want the team and the program to be a success on and off the court, in my opinion and obviously the people at Ashlands opinion ( they fired him ) Buddy Biggs is not the man to accomplish that. Time for him to GO !
